"I posted this on a fb mom group but wanted to put here as well to hopefully help more parents with their daycare/nursery school search. I have 2 kids- one is now a Blue Apple "graduate" and one is currently attending. Here are my thoughts on why this place has been a great fit for our family and what makes it unique: 1. It is run like a nursery school not an in-home daycare. This has been absolutely invaluable for my kids- the routines, the way the classrooms are set up, the skills/independence they build, the support with potty, etc. My big kid, who is now in public Pre-K, struggles with transitions but she was SO well prepared for the school schedule/routines/rules. BA paved the way in a loving and supportive environment. 2. The community. The teachers and assistant teachers give 1000%, most have been there since the school first opened. I have no idea how they maintain this level of kindness and patience while being sneezed and couged on by toddlers all day. The elective teachers (soccer and music) are also beloved and are talked about like family haha. The parents in the BA community are also engaged- We're in this together! 3. Communication. It is SO easy to get in touch with the staff & see what your kid is up to at any given time/day. I have never had a problem I couldn't promptly address or discuss with someone. We have always felt our kids are 100% safe and cared for. 4. My kids have never once come home with a photocopied coloring page or fill-in-the blank type assignment from a book. Now before you write me off as a preschool art snob, the reason I mention this is that it speaks to the level of care that is put in to everything the kids engage with at BA. You will see how it is reflected in the classrooms if you visit. The teachers set things up to encourage creativity, to really push your kid to grow and think in new ways while still meeting them exactly where they are at. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach and I am SO grateful for this given how much childcare costs in NYC. (see pics for just a taste of the variety! Any faces/info not mine or my kids I have covered for privacy)"

"My daughter loves this school. Every day she asks "Am I going to school today?" and when I say yes, she says "Yay!""
"Amazing child centered preschool. Project based developmentally appropriate curriculum. Simply amazing."
"Great new school. Everything's brand new. Cameras in every classroom and larger windows in every classroom give me comfort as a parent. And a curriculum that works for my child."
