"I really wanted to love this place for my kids but I was left highly disappointed about several things. I’ve witnessed numerous things to know that the people that own and run this place do not have or know what it’s takes to run a daycare the proper way. Their idea of providing breakfast is a handful of cheerios on a napkin and that is also considered a snack or a handful of goldfish. Some of the staff there do not properly care for your children. When you kid has a runny nose they will allow you kid to sit there with all that snot on their face for hours to the point that it’ll dry up and don’t have the decency to clean them up. I’ve witnessed on numerous occasions staff grab on children in a forceful manner when they’re “not listening”. But I will say this was also not my experience with all the teachers I encountered there. My 2 yr old son was removed from the daycare because apparently he was considered a safety concern. Imagine that, 2 yr a a safety concern, because allegedly he hit, scratched or bit kids “unprovoked” but yet they could never could provide footage of these incidents because their cameras don’t record and the last incident the staff wasn’t even paying attention which also led them to get reprimanded and later found out the two teachers that were in that class were fired following this incident. These people made it seem like there was something wrong with my son and I took him to his doctors on multiple occasions because of their “concerns” and he was evaluated for this and I was informed these things happen at this age, my son does not have any developmental delays and listens when spoken to. I have a 1 yr old as well that he does not attack, bite or hit when provoked, we’ve had him around other kids as well and I know that that is not how he behaves around other groups of children of different age ranges so I had a very hard time believing that if he was doing this it was being unprovoked. I don’t excuse the behavior but as a childcare center your staff also needs to be paying better attention or be prepared for things like this to happen because they are 2 yr olds. Not only can’t they tell you what actually happens but they don’t even fully understand what’s happening let alone how to regulate their emotions. It got to a point where I was receiving calls about my son to complain about him but whenever my son was on the receiving end of the stick nobody never called to notify me about it. My son came home on various occasions with black and blues around his eye and swollen eyes too. One time he came home with a huge gash inside him mouth, his lower jaw was swollen for a week he barely ate for the first couple of days but nobody was able to tell me what happened. On another occasion he came home with his four fingers cut up as if they had been smashed in a door or something and again nobody was able to tell me what happened or again the cameras are a live feed but don’t record. How convenient! The lead teacher in the class was a teachers assistant to the classroom with the 18 months old, prior to her current position, and left the class to work with the 2 1/2 yr olds because she couldn’t handle them and it was too much from her and when she moved up she was a made lead teacher. How can’t you handle being a teachers assistant to 18month olds but could manage to run a class as a lead teacher full of 2 1/2 year olds. You could see it in her face how overwhelming it was for her especially in the mornings when she was in there alone with all the kids. Anyways, the centers solution to the problem was removing my child which is the perfect fix for them since apparently my son was the reason why a number of kids had been unenrolled from the center. I don’t know but that was a little extreme to me and they also said they need to be able to pay their staff, as if he was also the reason why the center was not going to be able to pay all of their staff. Lol I say this to say that all these people really care about is the money in their pockets and your child is just another check."
"My nephew has been going to tle north haledon since he was 6months. I cannot express how hands on the admin and teachers are. Any question/concerns they have always been there. Communication is everything to us and we feel they’ve always kept us in the loop. Our first daycare experience has definitely been a pleasant one. Thank you Brittany Emily Tamerra Janelle and all of the teachers for being amazing! My nephew loves going to school!"
"I have been part of the TLE family at their North Haledon site for almost 5 years! Both my girls absolutely love it there and each transition they make to a new classroom has been absolutely seamless. The staff gets to know the girls and my family on a personal level and it truly is such a comfort knowing they are in such great hands. I LOVE the curriculum and also feel very safe knowing they have meticulous cleaning procedures and an air purification system."
"I’m very disappointed with the faculty staff at The Learning Experience at north haledon. I would not be writing this if there weren’t multiple incidents in which my two year old daughter was neglected. The first incident my daughter was sent home with a SEVERE/BROKEN SKIN diaper rash; all in her private area and between legs; which was caused in one day, nobody informed me nothing about my daughters rash at pick up time! Or that she had ran out of diaper rash cream! went in the center the next day and informed manager Brittany about the situation nothing was done but a simply apology and a bunch of lies from the teacher assistant about how my daughter has only been sitting in her poop for 40 mins. If so why did you wait till the 40th minute to change my daughter; as soon as you’re aware that a child has poop in their diaper they should be changed! Had to keep my daughter home for the rest of the week because of the fear of infection and the pain/uncomfortable position she was put through. I had to miss all those work days to care for my daughter due to their negligence. I tried to overlook at it because this has never happened to me before. The second incident, my brother picked my daughter up from school, as my daughter arrived she was pooped and IRRITATED in her private area. My brother informed me that the teacher knew she was pooped and told my brother that there’s wipes and diapers in the next room for my daughter to be changed, my brother has no clue and is confused about this “next room” he’s 18 btw and never has changed my kids diaper! So my daughter sat her whole ride home in her bowel movement to be changed by me. The next day I went in there and this time spoke to director Emily and the teacher about the second incident with daughter, AGAIN nothing was done but a simply apology and more lies from the TA about how the TA gave my brother an option in changing my daughters pooped diaper and he denied, so my daughter was sent home in her poop. as her care provider should’ve sent my daughter home with a clean diaper ! There is no option given to that… The third incident my daughter was playing outside in a 85 degree weather with a sweater on. at the pick up time my daughter was red and sweaty; checked the show n tell APP and pictures prove to me that my daughter had a sweater on outside in the playground! called the school and spoke to assistant Tamera about the situation was told that her sweater was taken off during play time, but was put back on when coming in the building, told her I don’t believe it, she replied “there’s nothing I can do that’s what the teachers are saying” even after witnessing the pictures in the APP that my daughter had her sweater on in every single picture that was taken throughout the day. Thank god my daughter didn’t experience a heat exhaustion. I’ve decided to remove my daughter from this center right away; I will not sit and wait till my daughter experiences a life threatening situation. They have proved to me how poor their priority for these kids safety are! Btw they offer parents a discount on their monthly tuition for a Google 5 star review, majority of these reviews have been written for a discount…."
"I should've left this center a long time ago when I witnessed one of the Infant B care providers pulling one of the toddlers, who was climbing the slides, from their jacket during inside playtime. I told Emily the director as soon as it happened and I even told her to look into it and she said they couldn't play the cameras back. This is just one of many incidents. If I could rate this 0 stars I WOULD!"
