Anchor Motel

"Booked one night here during Labor Day and it was a quick getaway for myself. Room was clean and exactly what I needed for just me. I felt safe and management was friendly. I wasn't in my room much because I was visiting with friends elsewhere and out mostly the whole time. Great water pressure in the shower. Bed was comfy. Took a quick dip in the pool after beach time at Island Beach State Park. Pool was small, but did the trick for cooling off. Room next to me had a dirty cigarette bottle outside their door for a couple of days but at least it wasn't my room. Lol Overall I was happy with my stay. Ohh and got a great last minute rate!!"

"I stayed for one night on a spur of the moment mid-week beach trip. Be sure to check the total with fees. An advertised rate of $109 was over $150 total. The double room I stayed in was clean. The deadbolt did not lock and the security chain was too short to actually slide in place. The window AC unit was powerful and kept the room comfy. Shower was hot and good water pressure. The toilet was nearly unusable. I’m a tiny person and had to sit side-saddle to use it or my knees banged into the wall. If you arrive late or don’t have a compact car, you will park across the street and down the block. There is no coffee maker in room and no coffee provided by the hotel. WiFi was not functional during my stay."

"They really came through for us. We were actually supposed to stay at a different hotel I'm not going to mention the name but it was disgusting. My wife and five-year-old son were really upset. We couldn't find anywhere that had a room available. When we drove into the anchor motel the guy at the desk was extremely nice. He told us not to worry he took care of us. Got our room walking distance from the boardwalk and Beach."

"The location is great, it is blocks from the boardwalk. The rooms are small, the bathroom even smaller!!! But you're not coming here to hang out in the room, you're coming here to go to the beach. Soooo. It's just a place to lay your head. I'd come back again."

"We stayed in July 2023. Location is hard to beat. Located next to a fire station and police/govt building, very quiet area. 711 across the street and 5 minute walk from the boardwalk and waterpark. No bugs. Great ac. Free parking. My son loved the pool. The owner and staff were very nice."
