Reviews of The Wall Street Inn
"About 100 years past its prime. This property needs a complete gut rehab. Everything is past its useful life and needs to be replaced. The Victorian decor would be acceptable for a seaside motel on Fourth of July. The gym and breakfast area reminds me of my visit to Russia in the 90s. Stay away from this dump."
"I’ve stayed at this hotel many times this year, I come into NY for meetings twice a month and I book this place sometimes. This week I had to cut short my plan by a day and asked the manager if I can split the reservation and use one day the next month. All he had to say was “we don’t do that”, instead he asks for my room number, checks the reservation and says “you can’t have a cheap room and flexibility however you like”. This is no way to talk to someone. I just asked if a change could be accommodated. Never staying at this hotel again."
"Great location, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. This boutique hotel is the perfect place to stay in the financial district. Unlike other modern hotels, staying here gives you the feeling of some gold old days. The bedding is clean and soft. We had a very good rest."
"I wouldn't call this a perfect stay to be frank with you all. I arrived there on Thursday evening to check in with a party of three. In what should've been a smooth checkout process turned into a financial nightmare. First, to be clear of how much I was being charged, I asked the inn receptionist what was my total for the entire stay. By this point, she already has my card and had charged me the total, but I just wanted to know. She tells me the total, but then also tells me that she voided the transaction because she wasn't sure if I wanted to accept the total itself or wanted to do something different. In other words, she never asked me to void it or cancel the transaction, she just did that on her volition. Now, at this point, my card has been charged, but according to the inn's system, she still needs a payment because she cannot check me in until she gets a payment (even though my bank statement shows me that the inn has a pending transaction of the money taken from my account). So due to this, I ask my friend to give me $903 extra dollars and pay for the trip until the money returns back into my account and I can give him the cash received back. Loss nearly an extra grand and almost had little to no spending money for this trip. I'd also like to preface that I was told my money would return to me in 24 hours...and it didn't, so there's that. Bank issue, not the inn, I guess. Not to mention, the beds here are small. The room is about as roomy as it can be, but not necessarily what I'd call "fancy" living. It can lodge you, but not worth being in all day. Especially if you are tall, you will have an issue. Average...no, disastrous living. But I wouldn't say it's the worst place to live in, honestly. The prices are decent, for the most part and can be worth your while when you need a place to stay. Not faulting them for being there when needed the most. 3/5 experience, but I'm not coming back here, no matter my last minute options. Word of advice to the receptionist: Think first before you act because you did a little too much movement there. Not to sound rude, but I shouldn't have to be charged twice and lose more money due to your actions. One I didn't ask for, and one you could've slowed down on."
"We stayed here in a Queen room for a couple of nights. The room and bathroom were both much bigger than I anticipated for a hotel in downtown Manhattan. The room was very clean and well appointed. The location was fantastic, being just a few minutes walk from Wall Street and easy access to the subway. The outside was still under construction, but we had no issues with noise. The free breakfast is nothing extravagant, but was enough to set us up for the morning. They provide toast, pastries, yogurt, coffee, teas, you can make yourself some waffles, and coffee and iced water was available until the late evening. There is also a sauna, but we had no time to use it. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The lobby was reasonably big with some sofas and chairs. We would book this hotel again, should we return to NY."
