"Lots of activities. Most of them free. Friendly staff."
"The Avalon History Center is a really unique place to visit. There are history displays, special events and a photo contest in May. It does not matter if you are a local or vacationer, you should stop in and enjoy it. And best of all...it is free!"

"If you and your family have been going to Avalon for years you will enjoy going back in time with your visit to this museum. Of you have old pictures they would love to have them."
"This is a sacred site for me as a lifetime visitor to Avalon, first from Phiadelphia{ birth in 1937 to 1971} and then from Vermont (1972 to present). The photographs and other mementos are tastefully and lovingly displayed to tell the story of the town's unique history , from the Avalon Hotel to the 29th St. Pier where my parents met in 1935 and danced to the big bands. From my era there are memorabilia from Dick Clark's summer bandstand and the Grease Band holding court at the Bongo Room. The bricked garden in the back of the Center affords one the opportunity for quiet contemplation to escape the hyperactivity of the summer season. Thanks for the memories."
