Reviews of Ramada by Wyndham Rochelle Park Near Paramus
"DO NOT STAY HERE!! I found 2 roaches here already! I am a very clean person so this really freaked me out! Place is super old . Curtains dirty. Place smells like cigarettes. I heard people constantly arguing multiple nights. Front desk not friendly at all."
"It's not about outdated decor. It's all about cleanliness. This needs to be addressed. I have pictures about how I received my room. Front desk clerks are so unfriendly, omg. If management wants to read my review privately, please contact me. I'm a executive housekeeper that spent more than a week staying at your hotel."
"I rapidly booked 2 nights here because it was late and I was desperate, and didn't have time to review the comments from previous guests. The rating was 3 out of 5, plus they had a low rate & free breakfast, so it seemed to check my minimum requirements. All I can say is having stayed here, I can assure you that 99.9% of any positive rating or comment is a fake done by management. Notice for every bad review that has actual details on why it's bad, there is quickly an offsetting, non-descriptive positive (obvious fake) review done by management. The pattern is so obvious LOL and keeps them at 3 stars or higher. Buyer beware! Always read the recent comments and if there are inconsistencies, always go with the bad reviews! I booked a double queen bed room. Upon arrival, I asked to get a room on the quiet side of the hotel (there is busy road on the front side of the hotel). The manager said the hotel was full and he couldn't change it, but 'trust me, you'll like your room'. The room we got was only 1 queen bed and a pullout sofa. I pulled out the bed in the sofa and it was hideous, with torn fabric, springs busting out and a box of condoms under the mattress. My wife almost fell through the mattress when she tried to sit on it. I went back to demand my 2 queen bed room... "oh that's weird, it's showing up in my system as a 1 queen room'...obvious lie. So he then assigned me the correct room (I thought the hotel was fully booked? Lie). But here is the kicker. This hotel is housing a large number of homeless people and get subsidies from the government to pay for them. You would never know that as a guest...I found out from a staff member. The homeless hoard alot of the free breakfast food and take it back to their rooms (even though there are signs saying you can't do that). I have nothing against homeless people but guests should know about this in advance, because it does have an obvious impact on the property. Other bad things I witnessed were locked doors propped open and strong marijuana smell in halls. As another commenter posted, the bath towels looked like used shop rags. I didn't feel safe in this hotel at all. I would never stay here again."
"Overall, my recent stay at the Ramada Rochelle Park was pleasant. I found the decor in the rooms and around the hotel to be dated and a bit tired, but very serviceable and clean. The actual hotel mimics a full-service offering but lacks amenities you'd expect from a comparable three-star offering. Specifically, a lobby bar or bistro would elevate the experience. I found it to be dim and uninviting. The detached El Asadero boasts delicious food and beverage offerings but operates separately and apart from the Ramada. If they offered room service, it would make their relationship more cohesive and accessible for guests. The complimentary breakfast could have been better, boasting limited offerings in an uninviting dining area. If transformed into a full-service sit-down offering, it would be an additional income opportunity for the hotel. Playing light jazz music and having flowers or candles at each table would make the experience eloquent. The primary issue I encountered was the persistent and pervasive odor of marijuana in hallways and common areas of the hotel. The hotel publicizes its nonsmoking policy and leverages an additional cleaning fee if smoking occurs in the guest rooms. However, these policies do not seem to be enforced. Another issue of concern I encountered was with staff and security. There were two occasions when our room keys stopped working. The team willingly reactivated the cards each time but never asked for photo identification. This is a significant safety concern and violates Wyndham policies. Ramada properties typically provide a predictable, reliable experience. However, management has the most influence over the quality of each property. Therefore, I highly encourage the administration of this property to confront these issues and make changes to elevate the guest experience."
"Stayed 2 nights. This hotel is in need of a major renovation! The rooms are outdated and stuffy. The A/C barely works, the towels are equivalent to shop rags, and the floors and carpets were filthy. I do not recommend more than a 1 or 2 night stay and make sure you have shower/house shoes. It was an hour and half to get into NYC and 30 minutes to get back into Jersey at night. I give 3 stars because check in was a breeze and the evening front desk staff was friendly."
