"First, the Bad News: the main theater of the Basie is no longer used for film presentations, only live performances. The (mostly) Good News: they've created a duplex theater a few blocks away, dedicated to film presentation, presumably year-round (as opposed to just around Academy Awards time, as before). The screens *are* smaller than the huge, old-school screen of before, but they've done a good job in terms of things like sight-lines and comfortable seating. (The popcorn's a bit better, too.) Still recommended, in spite of the screen-shrinkage."
