Reviews of Hyatt House Morristown
"The Hotel is clean, comfortable and located 8 minutes from Morristown. The success of a place is found in the costumer service. Being greeted with kindness, empathy and a smile makes you feel comfortable and with a high probability of returning, a very important detail that this hotel lacks. We decided to choose this hotel because of how convenient it looked on the internet, it confortable and clouse to Morristown that the photos showed, which the children loved, so we booked to spend New Year's Eve in the town of Morristown. On December 31, 2023, we arrived at the reception and were greeted by a lady who looked very, very upset and with a bad attitude, at first glance a problem totally isolated to us, she asked us for our identification, we gave it to her and she requested the card with which the reservation is made, we told her that it is a virtual card, with a strong voice tone she told us that due to hotel policies he must present a physical card, something that surprises us with the advanced technology, in the same way we understand the policies of each one, we tell her that we don't have it, how can we do it, that we have another one but it's not the one we made the reservation with, the lady looks even more upset, turns around, breathes and with a very strong tone and in a scolding manner tells us I'm going to let it pass this time but next time you must have your physical card. for which we thank her, even without understanding what the favor was. We received our keys but with a bad taste at first impression. The next day we go to the reception to check out and a girl assists us and we ask if they could light the bonfire for a moment just for the children to enjoy, since they had given us time to enjoy the facilities, and the girl He says let me check, when suddenly the Check-in lady name Meredith appears again with her very annoyed face and tells us with her imposing attitude about the hotel policies. , you can't use that when paying, for the deposit and I don't know how many things. In any hotel they will allow you to tour their facilities at the time of check out so that you have a good impression and want to return. So we left without visiting the facilities and without seeing the long-awaited children's bonfire, the main reason why we chose that hotel. When we left we asked the lady's name and we told her that her attitude was very bad from the first moment, to which she apologized and that we should please come back and she was going to light the bonfire for us, that it was already too late and she didn't do it. we did. We didn't feel comfortable at all and decided to leave. Mrs. Meredith, a smile, empathy and kindness are 3 things so simple and so beautiful, that only with that makes even the ugliest place beautiful."
"I've stayed at several of these suite-type hotels--Hyatt and Marriott properties--and usually find them great. And I've almost always found that the Hyatt properties are better. Love the fact that there's a separate living room and kitchen area, and they're usually very comfortable and clean. Not this one. Room smelled like someone had smoked in it at some point. Hot water was lukewarm at best, but more often cool or cold. Bed was poor--the mattress had definitely seen better days. Kitchen looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Bathroom was okay at best. Front desk staff was mostly helpful and pleasant except when we went to check out. About 7am on Sunday morning, there was no one to be found. Had to walk back behind the desk to see if there was anyone in the Manager's office. Apparently bothered the woman who was there--guess she was sleeping--because she grumbled something about leaving room keys in the basket and would take care of it later. And the gym. Wow. One working treadmill (three there, but one working)--and it wasn't even working that well. One bike, not working. Two ellipticals, one working. At least there was a decent set of dumbbells--although they were kind of rusty and looked like they'd been around since the 1970s. No wipes for the equipment. Water dispenser but no cups. Like I said--usually these Hyatts (Hyatt House, Hyatt Place) are great. But wouldn't recommend this one."
"I stayed here for a few days. The rooms are spacious, but the second bedroom had a very strong foul smell coming from the bathroom. I reported it and suggested that maybe the room needed to be aired out, but when I got back, it was actually worse."
"I made a reservation to stay at this location while visiting relative in hospice at morristown Hospital. After an early check-in, our toilet flooded our bathroom and room. I contacted the front desk, and they had a plumber come to the room before 1pm. He was sending housekeeping to clean up the mess as we were called back to the hospital after my uncle passed. Upon returning around 4 p.m., we walked into a room still filled with water and sewage. I went to the front desk and was told they'd send someone. We left, went to get groceries and after returning an hr later, there was still a mess in our room. The person I previously spoke with said they were busy but would send someone. I immediately requested assistance from a supervisor, and someone was sent to our room approximately 20 minutes later. This was such a disappointing experience."
