Reviews of Williamsburg Cinemas
"My visit to Williamsburg Cinema, nestled in the heart of Brooklyn’s trendiest neighborhood, was a testament to the simple joys of movie-watching. As I settled in to watch “American Fiction,” the cinema’s charm was evident. It’s an average theater in many ways, clean and comfortable, but it’s the subtleties that make it stand out. The evening was hassle-free, with minimal lines and a quiet concession area, likely due to our choice of a non-peak time. The space around the concession stand felt compact, an observation rather than a critique, as it contributed to the cinema’s cozy atmosphere. In essence, Williamsburg Cinema provides a straightforward, enjoyable movie-going experience. I couldn’t help but notice the strategic placement of a certain store across the street. This unassuming establishment seems to wink at cinema-goers, offering movie snacks ‘nudge-nudge, wink-wink’ you didn’t hear it from me though"
"As a small, local, no-frills movie theater, it does its job. However, I believe there are some aspects of the theater than can be improved to enhance the customer experience. First - the ticket situation. Even if you buy online tickets with QR codes, you still need to print the tickets at the movie theater. There are multiple ticket printing stations throughout the lobby. HOWEVER, it’s not immediately clear where these stations are, resulting in long lines for one ticket station while others are free to use. This leads to confusion and crowding in the lobby. This also gets to my second point. The lobby is small and crowding is frequent! The lobby is on the smaller side, and due to long lines for printing tickets and for concessions, it gets packed quickly and due to a lack of signage it can be a little tricky to navigate. Also, for a theater of this size, the concession stand is small and offers a limited selection of items. I will however say that the line moves along rather quickly for concession (although it does get so long that it reaches the front door - so arrive on the earlier side if you want snacks lol). Overall, a fine movie going experience - but there are couple of things can be improved that would really make visiting this theater a seamless experience."
"Manager Antonio is the epitome of customer service, that should be bottled and served throughout the industry. The workers (especially Frank) we interacted with were all pleasant, congenial and helpful. The lobby area was clean and the technological systems all in working order. This is an exceptiona movie theatre that I will definitely continue to suoport. My wife says Indeed!!!"
"Eh, it’s an okay theater. The seats are surprisingly comfortable, but other than that, there isn’t a whole lot else that is memorable or noteworthy. It’s a little more chain-y than some other great local theaters (Nitehawk, Syndicated, etc), so the crowds tend to be a little more casual as well, resulting in a lot of bad theater manners with people being on phones and talking, but that seems to be more of a widespread issue everywhere now."
"This is a great local cinema! The seats are big and comfortable and you can reserve them ahead of time, the screens and sound are great, and they always have good movies to choose from. Not to mention the tickets are cheaper than the National chains, only $11-14 for an adult. They have some cool art from local artists hanging up as well!"
