Reviews of Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab @ The Hugh
"Wanted the vegan/tofu doner kebab - service was pretty bad, waited 20 mins only to get chicken. Definitely don’t recommend with all the options around - and when I went back to tell them my order, the guy said he’s very good at what he does and I didn’t say tofu…like I’m pretty sure I would know what I said considering I’m a vegetarian? Why would I lie?? Maybe you just didn’t hear me with everything else going on? Extremely rude. Also, they KNOWINGLY gave me the chicken even when I clarified tofu as they were making it, which honestly is just not ok!! So now I’m out $16 with a lunch I can’t even eat during my only 30 minute lunch break. Screw that. Anyway yea don’t go here lmao pretty rude and inefficient - didn’t even try to rectify the issue whatsoever & way better options around for sure."
"If you're looking for a real German Döner kebab, this isn't it. To start, their beef is more like strips of steak - tough and dry. It's not shaved off of a spit like their chicken is. Everyone knows the döner kebabs are typically made with a beef/lamb spit. Then let's get down to their "spicy red sauce". I love how they fail to mention that this is actually a curry sauce. Also not traditional --- and was a huge surprise to me as someone who HATES curry. I would highly recommend them noting that their sauce has curry in it because it overpowered the entire kebab. Husband agrees that there are better kebabs in the city -- this isn't it. Very disappointed and wouldn't come back."
"Loved this food. The rice bowl was absolutely delicious. Spicier than I anticipated, but not too spicy for a spice-wimp like me to enjoy. The ingredients seemed very fresh and the flavors went so well together. Better than other similar food I've had. Highly recommend!"
"The pilaf rice bowl was amazing. I'm usually not a fan of feta but it went to well with everything. The chicken was not dry at all. The sauce, light and creamy. I'd definitely come back again."
"Tried this place through Too Good to Go, very delicious and worth it. Pickup was quick and easy, service was friendly, and it was really tasty. I see the regular menu price is about $15 which may be a bit pricy for lunch, but there’s a generous amount of meat and it’s filling without you feeling overly stuffed. Would recommend for a good, balanced, and tasty meal."
