QQ Nails & Spa 213 7th Avenue, Manhattan, New York 10011

"Totally disappointing and embarrassing. I broke a nail, and as a visiting tourist, was unsure where would be good to get my nails done. QQ nails was close to my hotel, so thought I’d give it a go. Welcoming upon arrival. Had my SNS removed, was offered a 10 min shoulder massage whilst this was being done. I thought it was complimentary part of the service, but when taken and sitting on the massage chair, I was told it was $15 USD for 10 mins and asked if I agreed to this. I did, and I was pleased to have a relaxing massage. After, the therapist finished my nails, I was happy with the colour, which I commented on. However, I could see the edges were not clean and crisply filed, in fact they were rough, lumpy and lots of product was touching / stuck to my cuticles. I didn’t say anything as I did not want to go through an awkward conversation. I went to the counter to pay and when the tip was optional, I decided that $2.00 would be sufficient since I really wasn’t happy with the “service” provided. The lady, scoffed and said, Miss, tips are usually 20%. It made me feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable. I said to her, what can I do now, she said maybe another $10 - so I got my card and swiped again. I proceeded to show her the result of my nails and that I was unhappy. She apologised and wanted to fix them. Two ladies then fussed about attempting to file around my cuticles and really had no idea what they were doing. I took the file from them and started filing the sides and edges myself. I also showed them where I was bleeding on my thumb, from the lady earlier cutting my cuticle. They kept apologising and I said to them, how unfair it was for me to be made to feel bad for a low tip, when the proper service wasn’t provided. In hindsight, I should not have tipped anything!! I did say that I should have my tip back, because it was not right. I explained that I did not want to make a scene about the situation in front of other customers, but they had now put me in a very horrible position. The lady gave me my $10 tip back, and later, after still trying to fix it and apologise, she said she wanted to give me 15% back too. I told her I didn’t want it, I just wanted to go, because I could not believe how I was made to feel. She insisted I take the money. My second time in New York City and this trip has ended on a sour note. I am not a cheap skate, however, I will tip, AND TIP WELL, when the proper service is provided!! Do better QQ!"

"They're very friendly here, and the space is clean and inviting. BUT the gel manicures just don't last - they peel off within a week. This has happened to me three times. Really unfortunate!"

"First time going to QQ nails and they messed up my nails. I had gotten nail extensions with gel. Rang pay about $104.00. My tips were crooked and were not shaped evenly or even the same shape. My gel on my left hand is bubbly and has bumps. I’m so fed up going to nail salons I might just learn how to do it myself. Shame I thought the place was nice. However I was also supposed to get a referral discount. That never happened and still paid full price. For a job that wasn’t done with care. If I could post up pictures I would."

"This is the only salon I go to, for years now. They treat you with respect and sincerity and I enjoy everything about it. The salon is immaculate, pretty and the staff is truly awesome. Services are five ⭐️ because they care. Prices are absolutely more than fair and it’s such a wonderful experience- try it as you won’t be sorry you did. I go no where else and I am do not even live in that neighborhood. They stand out from everyone else!"
