Menya Sandaime

"This place did not have table service and was a good place to have a bowl of inexpensive ramen. We usually ordered a ramen and a Combo meal that included a ramen of your choice, 4 pieces of fried chicken thighs (Karaage), and a soft drink. That was plenty of food for two to share. For ramen, we preferred the Tonkotsu Ramen and Karakuchi Ramen (spicy!) over Shoyu Ramen (broth too sweet). But I wish their broth were hotter (temperature wise). We also liked the Ankake Yaki Ramen, which was not a noodle soup, but a soupy pan-fried noodle dish topped with shrimp and lots of veggies."

"The Shoyu ramen broth had a decent taste. My kids thought it was spicy. The noodles were decent. The ambiance is casual like a traditional ramen shop. A few details - Some important and some minor - could elevate it and make it more authentic. 1) Ramen should be piping hot and stay hot. This didn’t. 2) Self-serve water in dingy little cups and an assortment of spices and tiny napkins on the table would make it more Japanese 3) how awesome would it be if they had a liquor license and served Kirin in frosty mugs? 4) karaage… should be served with a lemon. I’ve always had it a little spicier - maybe bc of powdered ginger. This had an unusual batter with some sort of crunchy cornflake… it was weird (“gross” according to the mini-critics)"

"Amazing Next-door ramen place. We went there after mall visit. It was very quiet, traditional, and good place. Server greeted us very well and helped us to order. I like their interior it reminds me some part of traditional Japanese places in new york. Wish they could have more Japanese options. I would surely recommend to check out as its reasonable and tasty!"

"Very friendly place! They have big space for many customers and ramen was very delicious too! It tasted better than normal chain ramen places.They have pay first and eat system so you have to go inside and pay and wait and eat the food! People were super friendly and the place was clean and nice too. It was a good experience I really recommend!"

"Surprisingly good. I've tried menya sandaime when I lived in Korea and wasnt a big fan, but having lived in Japan and also tried different ramen here, I can say that menya sandaime is quite authentic. I believe the chain is korean, but the taste is definitely proper. The prices are also quite good for the area, with rice bowls just around $10.50 and ramen starting at $11.50 Decoration is cool! It makes you feel like you're in Japan. The seating with tatami mat on top is also a very nice touch. Part of the restaurant in JC seems to be taken as storage currently during covid, but other than that it's great. It's also kind of self-service right now, you order at the counter, pickup your food when you get called, and return the tray and bowls to a certain area. I'm not sure if this was different precovid at this location."
