Reviews
"Good medium-sized art museum. Permanent collection is about half "non-conforming" Soviet art. Current temporary exhibit (Segal) is very good."
"Every one can visit this museum for sure and free. Guys at front information desk is so welcoming and helpful. Staff around are supportive. Coming to museum art display I personally liked majority items. Starting from kids gallery to Russian artist display. Most of the art types are first time for me to see and understand. Overall it’s good museum with all facilities in 2 floors. Photography is allowed. There is enough parking behind the building for visitors to park. We visited on Sunday and it’s not much crowded."
"It’s a great museum. We spent one hour there to appreciate all kinds of works."
"Very well laid out art museum on the campus of Rutgers university. I loved the Russian exhibit I'm a big fan of that style of art. I'm not sure if there's a parking lot because I ended up parking in the street and paying the media but it was ok because itself was free"
"According to their website, “The Zimmerli's American art collection, numbering more than 16,500 objects, includes paintings, sculpture, works on paper (prints, drawings, and photographs), and decorative arts. “ While I have not seen all these objects, I will say that the museum, its staff, and location represent what a museum can be. The exhibitions are usually timely, and represent an array of diversity and art and subject matter which other venues shy away from. They have the largest collection of Soviet era protests art work in the United States. If you are ever in the New Brunswick, New Jersey area consider paying a visit to the Zimmerli Art Museum, located right on the Rutgers University campus."
