Reviews of Stop & Shop
"Can’t say nothing bad. respectful people nice environment nine times out of 10 if they don’t have what you want you just let them know they’ll have it shipped the next week or so. The only thing I can really say that is bad is the parking lot its really messed up but other than that the inside of the store everything else is cool."
"No self checkout open, only 2 cashiers. It took more than half an hour to check out. Went again today, same story."
"On December 12th, 2023, at 4:50 p.m., I entered a Stop and Shop located at 2965 Cropsey Avenue in Brooklyn. My purpose for visiting was to return a can of beets. Upon approaching customer service, I was informed that it was closed, which I found frustrating. Despite it being midday and the store still open for several hours, I was not permitted to process a return. I decided to wait in line in one of the aisles and asked another employee if they could facilitate the return for me. Unfortunately, I was met with a refusal and was informed again that customer service was closed. I then approached the initial employee who had conveyed this information to ask if they could handle the return. Instead of addressing my request, she rolled her eyes, didn't look at me, and commented, "Why did you buy it if you're going to return it?" This statement shocked not only me but also a nearby customer. Undeterred, I approached the customer service register and requested assistance from another employee. Despite my polite request, she asserted that she didn't have to process the return. I urged her to do her job, to which she replied, "I am doing my job," but took no action. Throughout this encounter, she labeled me as "crazy" and suggested I needed to calm down, despite the fact that I was visibly frustrated due to the lack of assistance. I find this behavior ridiculous and unacceptable. I have decided not to patronize this establishment in the future. I request information about the employee involved and feedback on whether they are still employed. If the employee is still working there, I will cease shopping at this establishment and advise others to do the same. Instead, I will recommend getting a membership at BJ's in our neighborhood. This entire experience is absolutely unacceptable."
"In the year since my first review so many missteps have happened. Mostly it’s the fact it’s a run down store, understaffed, with broken self checkout lanes. Yesterday was a last straw for me. I’ll be taking my business to a different location."
"This place doesn’t have self shop, and only has two self checkout lanes. It was pretty packed so two extra self check out registers would have been a huge help. To their credit the cashier that’s near the self check out lanes did see me standing online and told me to step down. She was friendly, but kind of like because she has to. The bakery section seemed clean and overall the store has dim lighting but all of the employees looked busy. A gentleman I asked for help has a bit of a speech impediment and he was nice enough to walk me to the isle that I needed"
