"A peaceful retreat in the middle of a suburb. You can walk the ring road, wander in the woods, and scope out birds of prey in outdoor enclosures."
"It's a lovely place to spend time in nature. Entrance is free, but donations are always welcome. There is plenty of parking. Due to wildlife, dogs are not permitted. There is a small museum as well as an environmental center. Strollers are not recommended. Will definitely return once everything blooms in the spring."
"Very toddler friendly. Great hidden gem for any nature loving kid. parking is easy to find following a peaceful tree lined driveway . The nature center was great filled with a few animal friends , dont expect a zoo. It's a small building with educational materials and a large room with turtles, tree frogs and snakes. Theres even a huge snapping turtle which my son loved seeing. Keep exploring past the building and theres also a hawk and owl in an enclosure and a beautiful nature hike through the woods or on their very accessible walking path overlooking the water.."
"Lots of spring color with flowering trees. There are shaded picnic tables overlooking the pond. There is an easy gravel trail and a boardwalk trail with a stairway lookout. Expansive lawn areas and many benches. A very restful environment."
"Free. Beautiful. Super safe. Plenty of parking. No dogs! No skateboarding/biking? I’m assuming-I didn’t see any signs except a “no bikes beyond this point” at the trail entry… No feeling the wildlife… we threw rocks into the lake to see ripples, but it seemed like the geese had been fedbe cause they swam straight up to my kid, and looked at her and waited… It’s a hidden gem that locals know of. Animals in enclosures and deer walking around, the pond and trails are just the right size for a family with little kids or anyone recovering from surgery, like my mom who discovered this place after knee replacement surgery. picnic tables, seats, wooden deck area, the trail or if you prefer, the main circular roadway that speed walkers will prefer… it’s got just the right amount of incline. Bathrooms are available inside when the building is open… otherwise, port-a-potties are available (may be a post COVID thing)"
