Reviews
"Albion Memorial Park is one of Clifton's hallmark recreation spots. It has three baseball fields for play. One of them, at the corner of Maplewood and Elmwood, in the southwest corner of the park, is named for Clifton's first Major League baseball player, Ed Sanicki. Sanicki came up to the Philadelphia Phillies in September of 1949, and in his first at bat in the majors, homered of Rip Sewell. He would have two more hits in the majors that year, but both of them too, were homers, making him the first Major Leaguer to accomplish that feat (3 home runs for first three major league hits). Another is named for Henry "Hooks" Browser, one of the founding fathers of Clifton youth baseball. In addition, there are tennis/pickleball courts, a small playground for the kids, and a small walkway, well shaded for strolling."
