Reviews
"Very pretty but under utilized. Great place to walk your dog or picnic."
"Nice park but it needs some TLC. The Goshen library is by the entrance. There is a small lake but it’s covered by tall grass. There is a trail that goes around the lake."
"On pleasant days I stop to read in the park. Usually I find a book at the library and read the first couple of chapters before bringing it home. Well manicured the park is a beautiful setting . Only complaint I hear is that some older hikers. would like to see the full cinder winding paths restored.. A resolution of the demolition the almost 40 year closed school should be prioritized."
"As a NYC transplant to this area, I think some of the reviews are harsh. This is a great park. I've been going to it for a year now and never thought it was dirty or unkept. It is a beautiful park with a variety of scenery- pond with tall grass, open lawn, and more wooded lawn. The dog park seems popular. Really nice to walk around. There is dog poop here and there in the brush close to the path edges, and there is often deer poop on the lawn, but it is a park after all. Plenty of benches and lawn to sit and picnic at, as well as some tabletops and even Adirondack styled chairs by the pond. I go often alone as a female with my dog and have always felt safe. I've recently seen police present sitting in the parking lot, which drives home the feeling of security. The library is pretty active during library hours, so that adds a sense of security versus if it were quiet. The only time I've felt unnerved is when someone else at the park told me she just saw a coyote behind the pond. You do sometimes see people with their dogs off leash, but you get that at every park and in the year that I've been going multiple times a week I haven't had a bad experience. This is a very serene park with plenty of options- hang out on the lawn or at sitting areas, get steps in on the various walking paths, or just enjoy the scenery."
"My new favorite dog park, right in Goshen! Turn in where the Masonic picnic area is and keep going to the old school. Fence is at least 5 ft, great gates, grassy hills for dogs to run about, trick jump, tunnel, platform, benches and picnic tables. Bring your own bags and water/water dishes. A few trees for shade, ample parking. It's secluded and lovely here to relax or run about with my dog. He sure loves it :)"
