"Worst grocery store in Manhattan. Lower your prices. TJs and Morton Williams only a few blocks away."
"I was there to buy just one thing that I needed. When I was going to the cashier to check out, one of the staff randomly stopped me and told me I should not buy things that I can't afford (?!) Who the hell says that to a customer who is willing to buy? Never going back there!"
"You only really go there when you're forced to, the prices are way way higher than Fairway or Whole Foods both of which are in walking distance (e.g. you'll find Kerrygold butter for $5 elsewhere but like $9 here), but in a pinch when you've got a random ingredient you're missing it's good that they're there."
"In addition to being the most overpriced grocery store in America, D'agostinos also has plenty of mice roaming around when the store is closed"
"Every time I walk in here I feel sad for the staff who look depressed. The prices here are always absurdly high so I only buy the things on sale. To give an example of how stupid the pricing is for the same dry bagged pasta that you can get in Morton williams or Fairway for 3-4 dollars it sells here for 8 dollars... it's only 2 blocks away, it doesn't cost that much to ship 2 blocks away. I went to purchase some take away sushi from this place and they took my credit card away to the office to charge it and came back... like what? Why did you have to take it to the back room?"
