"BAIT and SWITCH company!! My wife and I selected a rug with Raoul at Edison showroom. It was Dixie Home manufacturer, style "Eminence" plush high quality with density rating of 3125 and yarn twist of 5.5. Material was nylon 6.6 and rose dust color. It was ordered through installer Bill Gemmell and he came on Feb 4th to install. After the rug was laid out we examined the rug to see that it was the right color and pattern but was less dense, not as thick of pile, and that the woven backing was noticeably less courses per inch compared to sample in show room. Bill agreed and said to go back to office and show them, which we did. Both Raoul and Jose agreed that it was without question, not the not the same as sample we all again compared in showroom. Not the density 3125 as advertised in show room. They offered up a reason what might have happened. They explained that there are lower grades of the same rug that manufacturers sell to others like Home Depot at a lower price. They filed a claim on our behalf. This installation was on a Thursday so room was not finished with house/furniture disrupted . We were expecting a replacement asap. Monday, Feb 8th came and went no answer. Calls were made Tuesday, Wednesday to Jose and Raoul awaiting answer from claims. Frustrated on Thursday, we called their claims manager Stephanie. She replied that she might have an answer by Friday or following Monday from Dixie. Calls Monday and during the week were made with no answer from Stephanie. Finally Jose called on behalf of Stephanie on Feb 22. Now 18 days later, Jose tells us the rug was good and no action would be taken by either Dixie Home or General floor. We asked him to have Stephanie call us, did not happen. We would be stuck with an inferior product. Finally we spoke with Will, assistant manager on 25th who proceeded to tell me that the Dixie's decision was final and that General Floor does not have any quality assurance program to insure that their customers get what they buy and resell to the consumer, unbelievable. General takes no responsibility for quality they buy for rug manufacturers and that their customers buy from them. General Floors counter guys were honest and professional people as well as Bill Gemmell but the company management is dishonest, negligent, with zero customer service. We will never buy anything from them and advise you accordingly. This is a classic :BAIT and SWITCH" company. Buyers beware!!!"
"My wife and I met Mike just minutes before closing on a Thursday afternoon. I was worried they were already closed because we weren't able to get back for another week. But Mike was gracious and humble and allowed my wife and I to look through quite a few samples. He even took the time to explain in detail the differences in the materials of the flooring we were looking at. We never felt rushed or put off by him. When we were done Mike has us take samples with us to compare in our own natural light to get an authentic experience of what the flooring really looks like. We went back the next day, returned our samples and are presently putting in 2 orders of plank flooring and an order of carpeting! Thank you Mike for taking the time to educate your buyers! We couldn't be more satisfied ."
"Vijay was very helpful in getting the right wood for us and having it delivered. The quality is excellent and customer service was great as well. Return was easy on the excess wood that I purchased the only complaint is they take 10% restocking fee so be careful on how much you order. Even if you have to order just right do it and maybe buy more later if needed instead of ordering a lot. I learnt my lesson by paying the extra 10% restocking fee."
