Tack's Chinese Take Out

"What a bitter sweet ending to a brisk fall day. After a long relaxing walk in the trails of Staten Island, one could work up an appetite or two! That’s when we were shadowed with a lovely lake side restaurant with lovely decor that lured us all in! After settling in, we couldn’t help but notice that we were about to spend a pretty penny on dinner! What shall we do!? It’s only Thursday and payday hasn’t even arrived yet! That’s when Tacks Chinese Restaurant was brought to our attention. Having eaten here once before I knew this was the choice for us. For roughly $85 we were more than satisfied and Tacks didn’t miss a beat! From the mouth watering chicken wings to the crispy noodles with sweet duck sauce. I highly recommend this to everyone on Staten Island. Everyone was able to have their own fortune cookie after as well. Did I mention they now take Credit Card in store as well! Score!!!!! i will definitely be ordering from them again! 10/10!"

"Will not recommend this place to anyone. They charge for any little changes to your food. .50 cent here, 1 dollar extra. I asked for a combination platter if I can get a can soda instead or pay extra, they said no. you need to buy it a full price for $1.50. I understand things have gone up, but accommodated to people who can not eat pork. Stay far away."

"Probably the best Chinese I've had on the island. The food came fast. It was super fresh and delicious. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice, Beef Lo Mein and Pork Dumplings. To me their food taste like very old school Chinese NYC takeout. If you were around in the 70s and 80s you know what I mean. The chicken was crisp on the outside and super tender on the inside. The sauce was authentic General Tso sauce. Sweet and spicy. The Shrimp Fried Rice was fresh (not stale rice here). Beef Lo Mein the beef was super tender and the lo mein noodles perfectly cooked. The dumplings were my favorite. Super soft and fresh dough on the inside and a bit crisp on the outside (I ordered them fried)."

"Tacks has had my heart since i lived in SI. I remember saving up to get a lunch special of general tso's and pork fried rice and eating it up faster than you can say scrumlicious! Tacks is still family owned and operated from what i can tell (and they work hard), flying in from the west coast to eat a childhood guilty pleasure of mind did not dissapoint. Best local chinese takeout place in staten island bar none."
