Reviews of Peking Duck House
"I have been enjoying the duck house since 1979 and our most recent visit did not disappoint. Fantastic steamed pork dumplings and sesame chicken perfectly prepared. Delicious pork noodles too. As always, the peking duck steals the show....simply wonderful in every way. Perhaps it was an off day but the wait staff would do well to be more attentive to a table of 10 spending real money... but the food was the star, as it has always been."
"We LOVED our experience and highly recommend. We were blown away with the most amazing Chinese meal we’ve ever experienced. First, the wine we picked was well priced at $40/bottle and awesome—but that’s not the star of the show, obviously… the Peking duck was insane. Wow!! It was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We also ordered hot and sour soup, spring rolls, beef/broccoli, and garlic shrimp. Every dish was wonderful. Outstanding portion sizes and flavor and fresh ingredients. The service was top notch as they carved our duck table side and hand rolled our duck pancakes! Everybody demonstrated pride in their work—you could tell that they care that you enjoy your experience and that they love what they do. I called four people from the table and told them we have to go here. Five stars! Can’t wait to go back!"
"We loved the food and had an amazing time despite being seated by a very frustratingly unruly party. They were very loud and obnoxiously drunk, to the point that it was unbearable and we had to shout to each other seated right next to each other. We asked the staff if they could do anything but as they were full they said they couldn't do anything. We had half the amount of people as that party so I understand money logistics but I wish they had done something about it, we still deserved to have been treated as valued guests and have as good of a time as they did. It was simply not fair. That said, the food was incredible. The Peking duck is served as little "tacos" that you can dip into the duck sauce. It was unbelievable. (I had never had Duck before). The cocktails were okay, but the bottle of wine we got was delicious. Also, the plate of crunchy noodles was SO good. I only wish that the atmosphere had been nicer. It was very much setup like a giant cliche banquet room with white tablecloths and musty gold accents, and the screaming Jersey boys next to us ruined it from being as forgettable as the decor should have been so we could have focused only on the food and our guests."
"I love Peking Duck house in New York City. I’ve dined here since the early 80s and the duck has always been great. We first frequented the Chinatown location before the remodel but now we go to the 53rd St location since it’s a bit more convenient for us. You come here for the duck, period. It’s been consistently good for me for almost 40 years - the only thing that changed is the price. But, we’ll keep coming back."
"Been here so many times. Never realized Pele, Stevie Wander, and Muhammad Ali ate same Peking Duck! Legendary restaurant. Still great food. What a feast. Thank you for consistency, resilience."
