Reviews of Chinese Tuxedo
"My friends and I went here for my birthday celebration and we had a great time! The service was excellent, my waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. We got the oxtail buns, duck dumplings, spicy noodles, pork belly, and beef rib — all delicious but my personal favorites were the pork belly and noodles! They also gave me a complimentary glass of champagne for my birthday. We all enjoyed the cocktails as well and they came out fast. Will definitely be back!"
"Hugely overrated, equally overpriced. It's a very nice looking place, though seriously under-lit upstairs, and the food is equally nice looking. It just isn't very good, I'm afraid. Shrimp wontons were passable, the mushroom ones were not. The hot fried chicken was just semi-rectangular chunks of chicken that weren't crisp at all. Think Chick-fil-A nuggets, but larger. The squid ink noodles were ok, though perhaps undercooked a bit. The bronzino was fine, but plain. The ox tail bun was considered good, though. Service was great. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The mixed drinks were also good. 3 people (one drink each), including tip, reached $250."
"Highly recommend! The ambiance is amazing! From the service, to the food and drinks…. All top notch. The best fried rice I’ve ever had in the city. Definitely something to check out if exploring the Chinatown area."
"Went in recommendation that this place was good and had great dumplings. This place had great modern Asian decor located in NYC Chinatown. We tried a lot of their dim sum menu. The one that surprised us the most was the oxtail bun. Was the best out of all the things we tried. The next best was the 5 spice quail. They had these fried leaves as garnish and was surprisingly good. Such a good aroma to it and crunchy too. It was fried and had a good taste to it. The disappointing dish was the lobster and shrimp toast. The toast was so oily. Didn’t see or taste much lobster. It is all shrimp. They have a pickled vegetable on top of a marinated dried squid and the toast was cut into 4 pieces. The garnish was more interesting than the actual dish. Didn’t enjoy the over the top oily toast. The dumplings we had all are nothing to write home about. The squid ink noodles were super oily. I don’t know who has a taste for oily stuff. I personally can’t stomach it. The noodles so had a bit of sour flavor, I’m guessing out in to counteract the oil. Didn’t work. The last dish we had was the spicy fried chicken. It is pretty spicy but very good. They keep the place pretty dark. Service was great. Recommend you try it at least once."
"Came here for a work dinner. The everything was so good and we also got the duck on top of our group menu. The duck I personally don't love, I personally like the traditional kind more with the regular pancake wraps. But it interesting to try this kinda duck for the first time, kinda like kbbq. We really enjoy the cocktails here as well. Will definitely come back to try more drinks/food next time!"
