Reviews of Jiang's Kitchen 疆湖
"Absolutely amazing Uyghur food!!! Big plate chicken, beef dumplings, lamp with cumin is all amazing and good enough to feed two hungry guys. Coming from Toronto we have some pretty good Uyghur options but this absolutely amazed us (mostly me, unfortunately it wasn’t a five star for the other guy with me because it had a lot of cilantro—so if you don’t like cilantro this may not be the best for you) Oh and definitely get big plate chicken without the bones, it’s worth it. Also, beef dumplings are crazy. Like actually fire"
"We came here to try the lamb dishes. My favorites were the lamb ribs and the sautéed bok choy with garlic. I didn’t care for the lamb skewers and kidney skewers which were dry and tough. We were the only table here at a rainy weekday during lunch so the service was good. The lamb dumplings had thin skin but flavor was just ok. I would return just for the lamb ribs and the sautéed bok choy."
"One of the rarest Halal authentic chinese restaurants in the Chinatown. The place is warm and there's arrangement for namaj as well. We loved the food, as it was full of flavors and nothing was overcooked. You can taste the ingenuity of the ingredients and seasonings on the first bite. The price also seemed fair enough in comparison to the portion size. The staff is very accommodating who'll guide you on the menu and recommend on your preferences. We couldn't get the Hotpot since the chef who looks after this, leaves at 8:30pm. We would definitely love to revisit. Visited again for Hotpot. The experience was a bit hectic this time. The hotpot soup dish had a thick shape in the centre making it tough for us to pick and boil items. The regular soup is too plain, so would recommend to take the spicy version of the soup."
"Fantastic halal Chinese restaurant in downtown. We've been there several times and I can finally get to leaving a review. I'm told by my Chinese wife this restaurant serves somewhat fusion food rather than authentic northeastern Chinese food but I still think it's worth visiting to satisfy your Chinese food cravings or to diversify your list of ethnic restaurants you like visiting in NY. We had oxtail soup, lamb meatballs winter melon soup and sizzling rice with beef. Winter melon soup was a bit too spicy for us but all the food was awesome. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiter was also very attentive despite the restaurant being relatively full."
"Fast service that was reasonably attentive. Servers popped in during convenient times to refill water each time the bottle was emptied and were extremely polite, not rushing us out the door. Delicious food that didn’t take long to come out and didn’t make us feel heavy or gross after, instead filled us comfortably - and most importantly a big serving for a reasonable price, which managed to leave with enough leftovers to serve as a meal. Envied looking over at other customers’ delicious-looking food too. Highly recommended!"
