Reviews of Mavis Discount Tire
"Took my car in last week for 4 tires, an alignment, and oil change. Only waited about an hour. They had me in and out very quickly. The manager Jesse was very nice and helpful. He guided me in the right direction and made sure to take care of my vehicle with care."
"Extremely pleased with my visit today at Mavis, came in today to get my brakes done and get my tires checked out. The service was quick and I’d like to give a very big thank you to Luis and Jesse who made my old car drive like new ! They answered the million questions I had about my vehicle with no hesitation! I have already made plans to come back to get more work done. I would highly recommend this place!"
"The service I received was fast, reliable and trust worthy. My vehicle was taken in right at my appointment time and I didn't have to wait or do any time consuming procedures. All the employees were friendly and respectful and made my time there enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend this Mavis to others in need of repairs or maintenance."
"I changed 4 tires last Sunday at Mavis at Ridgefield Park, NJ. And Monday was Labor Day, so I didn't use the car. On Tuesday, I was driving down the highway to work. While driving, there was a dull, bad, loud noise coming from the front wheel side of the driver. I thought something small had hit the wheel while driving. In the afternoon of the same day, I checked the wheels and found that the front wheel stud lock on the driver's side was missing. I naturally assumed that the stud lock was not properly tightened at Mavis. So I went back to Mavis on Wednesday and I explained the situation to manager (Tim). The manager went to the place where the mechanic worked for a while and came into the waiting room with the person who replaced my wheels on Sunday (Evan). Mechanic immediately told me : At the time there were only 4 stud bolts on the wheel and I only put 4 as is. If there were only 4 studs attached to a wheel with 5 holes, shouldn't they talk about it for the safety of customers? The mechanic even put the stud lock with his own hands in the set box containing the spare studs after all the wheels were replaced. If it had only 4 studs as originally installed and he found out that there was a spare stud, isn't it common sense to tell the customer that he will insert a spare stud because 1 is missing for safety? (Yes, this is a tire specialty store) The mechanic seemed meticulous enough to ask me if it was time to change the brake pads, which I hadn't even scheduled, and asked if I wanted to replace them as well. However, I don't understand why I didn't tell me about the lack of a stud. The manager said this was not their responsibility and would just replace them if I bring a new set of stud locks to the store. (The manager asked me to bring proof that all 5 studs were stuck before I brought the car to this shop for a tire change. I don't normally check my car's stud every morning) And he concludes that the stud is missing from other shops. (I just had my first tire change here! Yes It's first tire change on my car) I didn't want to make an argument anymore, so I just asked for a spare stud to be inserted into the empty place. The mechanic and the manager put the stud in by hand and said that the inner thread seems to have damage, so if they insert more, it will cause more damage. In the end, I had to leave the place with the car without even fitting the spare stud. Stores that professionally replace tires must also consider the safety of customers. Now, I also doubt that the mechanic did the job properly for the tire alignment I paid for. Because I did not receive the result of alignment. The price of the tire was too good, but the other services were too disappointing. Even if it wasn't their responsibility, they should have done something to keep the customer safe. I'm still 100% sure the dull sound I heard on Tuesday was the mechanic not tightening the stud properly and letting it come loose."
"Al gave us the best experience to date. We are out of state customers and Al treated us like we were cousins. Everyone turned us away because of the type of car I drive. Al and Monty took care of my needs and got me back driving the same day! Thank you for such a wonderful experience Al and Monty!"
