"UPDATE DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I just saw another dentist because my fillings done by this dentist started to bother me again. The dentist did X-rays and saw the filling done on my tooth was way too close to my nerve and that is why I have pain. Now I have to get a root canal because this dentist being GOD AWFUL! I went in for an annual cleaning a couple months ago. I had 2 cavities that needed to be filled. I came in and got them filled the next week with Behnaz Garemani. Everything was fine. 2 months go by, and one of my fillings chip. Mind you, this happens 2 days before Christmas. I rush to go in, knowing I’ll be traveling for the holiday. I reserve an appointment with Behnaz Garemani. When I arrive, someone completely different comes in. Although very friendly, I can tell that this dentist has much less experience. She “fixes” my filling and sends me on my way. Once the numbness goes away, I realize that I still have the exact same pain and my bite is off. So I went in with 1 problem and left with 2. The entire week of Christmas I was in pain with nothing to do about it because I was in LA. As soon as I get back, I come in again. Behnaz Garemani sees me this time and tells me my bite is off and the tooth just needs to be shaved down. I’m relieved. She does this and sends me on my way. Some time goes by and I try to eat something.. no surprise here, I still have THE SAME PAIN. I go back in for the 5th time at this point and Behnaz Garemani actually takes a look and sees that the fillings that were “fixed” were done incorrectly and causing me pain. She then took them out and redid both of them. Halfway through, the other dentist that messed up my fillings before comes in, and in whatever dentist lingo Behnaz Garemani tells her that she has to make sure to do this or that when she does fillings. While I’m laying there. Mouth wide open lol. I’m all for younger dentists learning, but I didn’t sign up for them to try and figure things out inside my mouth and make these mistakes. This is the first time I’m without pain in what feels like a month, and neither dentist apologized to me for the inconvenience they caused me before I left. I don’t intend on ever going to this dentist again after this experience and thought others should know about it too."
"STAY AWAY from this office!! They charged my credit card after I called to cancel an appointment A WEEK IN ADVANCED. Now they refuse to refund me the money alleging I “never cancelled” the appointment. I will not be back and definitely I do not recommend them."
"I initially came to this place because I wanted a second opinion on some cavities diagnosis. I was convinced that my previous dentist was trying to scam me -- 5 cavities and you're not going to show me the scans, uh ma'am do you take me for a fool?? So I canceled my appointment and came here. At this point I was feeling a little weary of dentists in general so I was acting coy in the initial appointment, I told them I was there because "my last dentist gave me the ouchies" (its true they did violate my gums and they didn't even hold my hands). Almost immediately I could tell they saw through my charade but they kindly went along with it. Even though my insurance did not cover a second dental scan, Dr Garemani swung me a favor and did it free of charge. And while we're on the topic of Dr Garemani, I have to say hands down she's been the best dentists I've had in my life. She's not only extremely competent when it comes to the dental procedure (no pain in the procedure at all) but she's also a really fun person to talk to which goes a long way in helping you relax in the chair. For once I'm actually looking forward to going to the Dentist. Might even start going more than 2x a year, holy heck, that's how life altering the experience was. Oh and for those of you wondering, it turns out I DID have 5 cavities (what can I say ya boi got a lil sweet tooth), but hey it was worth it for me to find the best dentist in the city."
"HORRIBLE. Several months ago I came in just for a routine cleaning and got X-rays. The assistant who took my X-rays told me that my teeth looked great. Then when the dentist came in, she told me i actually had several cavities that needed to get filled, although i had no sensitivity or tooth pain. On my X-rays, the dentist did not clearly point out to me where my cavities were when i asked her to. I figured i just couldn’t see it with my untrained eyes. In one session i got half of the supposed cavities filled and was told to come in to get the other half done. After that, one of the teeth that was filled started developing sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures and pressure when chewing. I did not schedule a second session to have other teeth filled. The sensitivity didn’t go away after several months. I went to a different dentist to have the tooth examined and the dentist there showed me that the filling was done way too close to the nerves in my tooth, which is why the tooth became sensitive after receiving a filling. I’m in disbelief because this office took so many X-rays yet neglected to realize how close to my nerves they were getting. The other teeth that she told me still needed fillings still feel completely fine many months later! I learned that it’s actually common among dentists to do unnecessary fillings on patients for the extra $$ and because (if done right) it doesn’t harm the patient. In addition, this dentist suggested me to start Invisalign with her without me asking for it, which i thought was rude. I would never go back here and have recommended against this place to all my friends in NYC."
