"If I could give 0 stars, I would. My hybrid Hyundai Sonata broke down on the Jackie Robinson about a month ago and by recommendation of the guy who drove the tow truck that was supposed to tow my car to the Hyundai dealer, I went here since it was “AAA approved”. At this point it was turning on, but every time it was shifted to D position, it would flash a warning on the screen saying not to drive it, and would jerk. Every time they suggested a solution, I trusted them to enact that solution and it did not solve the issue. And they were very low on communication - would take hours, even days to get back to me, and it was only when I followed up. I had a right to receive frequent updates about my car. Ultimately after having about $1200 worth of services and parts bought for my car, they told me they were still unable to fix it. After 3 weeks of back and forth, the next plan would be to replace the “drive motor” which would have costed $7k. I decided not to go through with it out of fear I would be investing much more into a car than what I paid for it. I had it towed from there to a CarMax to sell it, because I couldn’t get it seen by the dealer for another 3 weeks. When carmax completed their inspection, the car wasn’t even turning on….it was in WORSE condition than when I first brought it to Nor-Cooper. The sad part is, Nor-Cooper didn’t even tell me about that, and I’m almost 100% positive they knew, because they were the last ones to drive that car. Overall, this whole situation felt like a scam, and I’m very upset with the way everything turned out."
"My car was towed there by AAA because they’re a AAA service center near my home. The issue was straight forward. A rat died under my hood and dislodged the alternator belt. I went there to just get the belt replaced if there were no other issues. The service manager informed me that he’d let me know when the car was ready; I waited in the area for the fix given that it wasn’t a complicated repair; I realized that the service manager hadn’t called me; so I went back to the center only to be charged $175. for an engine cleaning that I wasn’t financially ready for, nor informed of in advance. Every mechanic centers have always informed me of the estimated costs before proceeding to do the job; this center didn’t bother to call me while I waited for the service. So my conclusion, the service center decided to do a cleaning job without my consent in order to make more than the $70 charge for just replacing the belt. Note that I checked the average cost of a basic cleaning; they overcharged as the cleaning was pretty shoddy; and I noticed a piece of rat feces was still under the hood. Regardless, I didn’t ask for an engine cleaning. So I qualify this center as being dishonest for tacking on an unnecessary $175. engine cleaning job without my consent. So beware of this deliberate lapse in communication for $ sake at this center. I was very upset by the final bill. But I decided to refrain from arguing, cut my losses and note my complaint via this review."
"I was stranded 400 miles away from home and Harry the service manager was very helpful and took me right away and got my car repaired in no time. Highly recommended"
"I had my catalytic converter stolen which is an annoying and stressful situation to deal with. But you know it wasn’t hard to deal with? Nor -Cooper repair. Specifically Harry. He was so helpful and pleasant to work with and once my insurance was approved. He was very quick and efficient with the actual repair. I would 100% go back there again in the future."
"Easily the best shop in queens! My boy Harry took care of my radiator and thermometer super quick and made sure everything was working after repairs. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!"
