Reviews of Tune Time Performance LLC
"In short I love Tunetime. I have an 83 el camino that is LS swapped. They built a brand new 6.0 which unfortunately developed an issue a week after I picked up the car. The issue required Tunetime to tear the motor down and rebuild it which they did for FREE. I wasn't even charged for incidentals. Matt (owner) stands by his work and runs a professional operation. If you live in the tristate area do yourself a favor and don't go to any other shop."
"Right off the bat I wanna say I was very impressed with the shop in general. I was most impressed with the fact they do in house machine work on blocks and heads on their very nice 5 axis mill. Most shops like them need to sub out machine work so, to me this really makes them stand out. Anyway, I have a second gen CTSV with an A6 trans and after a long laundry list of repairs and mods in the past, the transmission never really felt right. Some hard up shifts, bouncing on the rev limiter at WOT due to delayed shifts, I was really concerned the trans was hurt. These guys took to time to discuss the history of the car and what all was done to it in the past and felt confident it was tune related. I was also having a strange rattling sound when shifting from R to D and vice versa. Was insured they will diagnose. Well they didn't miss. They were able to pin point the rattle was coming from the drive shaft, and recognized a very sub pair tune in the trans(from a different shop i had a bad experience with in the past). They were able to quickly get a new drive shaft installed, and dialed in the trans tune perfectly. The car genuinely feels like a completely different car and I am definitely pleased. Quality work aside I also really enjoyed the interaction with the guys up front. I have friends and even personal experiences where other shops gave the feeling that your car isn't important or a priority if you weren't spending big money on a huge build that would make for a good video on social media or YouTube. I really felt like they were treating the repair as if it was their own vehicle and I really appreciate that. No ego, no arrogance, no sparky answers to my questions just all around cool guys. I have some stuff in mind for the future for my truck and the CTSV and I will be back for sure. BTW, hey Marty... Go Phil's! Lol"
"Brought in my Dodge Challenger for a tune and new pipes. All I can say is...it came in with a slightly tuned RIPP SC kit installed and left with a whole new car. Hit the gas hard and the blower just screams and the car pulls...they picked the new muffler system and I am smiling ear to ear. They did run into a problem with the drive shaft, but they resolved it despite the part not being available at Mopar. YO...all I can say is...AWESOME...!!"
"My brother Steve and I installed a supercharger on our 5th gen Camaro. We had Tune Time install the fueling of the car and had nothing but issues. The injectors were poorly seated leading to fuel leaking out of the fuel rail. Then while diagnosing the fuel pressure issues, we also discovered the fuel-pump relay (picture attached). We discovered many more issues when we took the car to a get a better tune. The fuel lines were dangling lose near the exhaust headers as well as dangling unsecured underneath the vehicle. They installed a 7amp(rated) fusewire where there should have been a 30amp(rated) fusewire. The fuel lines connecting to the fuel filter were loose (and also leaking). The fuel pump was installed wrong, leading the fuel reading on the dash to be wrong. After towing the car back to their shop, it did not last 2 miles before breaking down. They did not cover the tow despite these complications caused on their lack of competence. They also did not cover the labor of them FIXING the issues that they caused by not doing the initial install properly. What they DID cover is my front bumper… because they somehow damaged that too. Basically, every component of my vehicle that was touched by TuneTime had to be checked and redone. I would have spent less time and money doing it myself. Which inevitably I had to do or have someone do… INCLUDING the retune of the vehicle. The car runs fine now, gaps everything in creation, only AFTER taking the car somewhere else. In fact, the new tuner is the one who noticed (and documented) most of these issues. They deemed the vehicle, "Unsafe" for their Dyno and insisted I fix the fueling issues first. Ironic considering, I already paid $5K to have the fueling done by Tune Time. I will say the hot-glued fuel-relay was the best part of this whole interaction. Instead, next time just burn the customer’s car down in your shop- so they’re not the ones driving it when it does happen. EDIT: My apologies, I was referring to the wire rating. I corrected it. Steve will reach out shortly."
"Brought my street rod over to tune time performance to check my sniper EFI. I was having cold and hot starting issues. Matt questioned me about the car and wanted any information I could supply about the car. He assured me they would get it running right. My starting issues are resolved and car is running GREAT!!! When Matt road tested the car he noticed a couple of things that needed to be addressed that I wasn't aware of, Since no one else really ever drove the car I'm grateful for his diagnosis. Great customer service and friendly staff. Matt, Lenny and the crew run a great shop. Definitely would recommend Tune Time Performance for your performance needs. #TUNE TIME PERFORMANCE #1"
