"I purchased their gel mani/pedi Groupon ($65 for $97 worth of services) to support a local nail salon and was disappointed by my experience. I never let the nail tech “Marj” know but I understand Spanish and everything that she and the owner said. The tech talked badly about my nails, tried to encourage the owner to over charge me, thankfully the owner was much more reasonable and told her she needed to be reasonable. The teach stated the work I needed required $90 service charge. She argued with me that I only paid $65 and should pay her $45 plus $20 gel removal on top of the Groupon. The owner asked that she not get upset and to charge me for gel removal $10 ONLY which I confirmed with the owner in English. The owner left the salon and the tech finished my toes and began my gel manicure and before painting asked me to pay $20 for gel removal saying that the owners had difficulty translating. Again I understand/speak Spanish but never did share that with her. I paid the $20 and will never return or recommend Marjory to anyone. To add my nails are uneven, bumpy, and the polish was poor quality and not worth what was paid. Marj proceeded to insult my regular nail tech/cousin questioning if she went to training. My cousin is well certified with techniques and licensed and has been doing nails since she was a teen! Her work is neat, even, thorough and smooth and I have never walked away with my nails less than beautiful. Marj felt bad after I sent payment with a tip and she then tried to ask me to let her bedazzle my nails which I declined and wanted the experience to be over. When I went to my regular nail tech we uncovered fungus under one of my nails which she explained was overly packed by Marj with gel and the nail was not thoroughly covered properly leading to the fungus. I recommend anyone to communicate with the owner directly and I would not recommend “Marj” to anyone she could use more nail training and professionalism."
