"I cannot thank these guys enough for the great work they did to my 39 Chevy had a nice 400 small block Chevy rebuilt by them. Dan went over everything with me. Had everything powder coated it’s so sweet I cannot wait for the body and paint to be finished. Explain how I wanted it to look to match the paint job. I’m having done on the car and they knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend these guys with the text messages of photos of the progress was great for me, knowing that I’m a 2 Hour Dr. to them, Dan and his crew are awesome. You want your hot rod musclecar done right this is the place to go. !!!"
"I can't recommend this place. Without getting into too much detail it seems like they were too busy when my car was there to test their work properly. They dressed the engine up and made it look pretty, but it wasn't tested properly to get back a solid running car. Notice all of the cars in the background of the pictures outside? Your car will probably join that backlog of work and sit for a long time. Good luck! Beware of the contract you sign when starting service. You just might end up having to pay to pick up your car when you get tired of waiting. -Updates Typical response from Dan the owner to a negative review. Assuming a customer is cheap and trying to pass blame of a bad experience is not a great look after spending $7,500 on some work that wasn’t complete. I never asked to work on a budget I just wanted a solid running car when done. I didn’t want to get into it since there were so many things wrong over the year that my car sat at your facility its actually just hard to keep track of all the lies and stories, but I will do my best to outline them. - Drop car off and Dan has time to go over the car and make recommendations on what we need to fix. I ok every list item and work gets started, or so I thought. - Over 6 months or so Dan could hide behind the vendors that he outsourced work to for a carb rebuild and transmission work. - I had to call every few weeks and check in to try and get updates after letting Dan do his thing for 3-4 months with no contact. No proactive updates on the project were given. I was simply trying to keep the project on track since it felt like my car was just sitting outside in the weather. - Dan is a good storyteller and overall comes off as a nice guy so you want to give him the benefit of the doubt. The one story that was the icing on the cake for me was that he could not tune my car properly until his hand was healed. Dan said that he needed to be able to drive it to tune it correctly. Then when I picked the car up months after this story, he mentioned that he couldn’t fit in the car to drive it so his tech test drove it. So why was I waiting for your hand to heal then if you didn’t need to drive the car? That lie just solidified the feeling in my gut that a lot of the other excuses were lies and why it took a year to get my car back. - When picking the car up I asked for a detailed receipt to so can go over the work that was actually done and he was unable to provide it. I asked a few times, and he never produced the document. - Be cautious about the work cancelation policy - If you drop off parts inventory them to make sure you get everything back if it’s not used. - Ask to keep all parts taken off of your car to verity they were actually changed, and they might be worth money. In summary if the car was sound after waiting a year for this work to be done, I would have been ok with it. However, having to visit another shop to fix the work that was already done finally made me write a review."
"I took my 1933 Street Rod to HotRod Garage for 2 oil leaks. Dan replaced the oil pan gasket and also the intake manifold gasket. I also asked Dan to go over the engine. I purchased the car 2 years ago, it always ran well, but Dan did a tune on it, and found and repaired some minor issues. The car runs so much better now and no more oil leaks!! Dan was also very accommodating to my schedule. I now have a very competent shop to take my car if I need anything else done!"
"Went to see the 82 Corvette I painted and installed new interior at the Mechanic shop today. Has the new 383 Crate Engine installed from Blue Print ,Rebuilt transmission and Hot Rod Garage fixed all the stuff that the Previous 2 mechanics screwed up or left loose. Beautiful car and fires right up with turn of the key. Dan and the Guys did an awesome job and even with the $12,000 body & custom paint job its as beautiful as the day I dropped it off for the new engine. Great Job I was highly impressed with their work."
"Hot Rod Garage is def the place to go if you want it done right. Dan is a pro and takes care of his customers and loves what he does. The work was clean and done perfectly. He took my tired 69 Impala and gave it new life. Engine, Trans, Power Disc Brakes, Completely rebuilt all suspension, The list goes on. car runs, drives and rides NEW. Prices are more than fair and it was done ahead of the estimated schedule. Went above and beyond. The attention to detail is refreshing. I picked it up last week and already dropped off the next build. Thanks Dan and Bob for everything!!!"
