Reviews of Talay
"If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! My family (including kids and grandparents) had just crossed the Staten Island ferry and were hungry so we decided to try this place, which was just across a couple streets from the ferry terminal on Staten Island. I have 2 children who need to eat gluten free due to Celiac disease. We came in the afternoon and they were serving the lunch menu, which was a great price, and at least two of their options were gluten free. The host helped us choose our perfect meals, which were served quickly after ordering. We were able to all sit together at a big table since we were almost the only ones there at the time. The portions were just what we needed for our biggest meal that day and SO delicious!! We all agreed that this was probably the best Thai food we had ever eaten. If we ever visit again this will be on our list of places to eat."
"Takeout portions are huge. Their pad Thai was good but something was missing and I wish it had more chicken in it. Also tried their Jeeb Fried dumplings and didn’t like them. I don’t think this place is authentic Thai. More like Chinese owned serving Thai but I could be wrong. The flavors just lacked authenticity."
"Ughhh. Like everyone else saying here, this place really used to be decent. Even when the customer service got bad, I still went there because I like the food. Now the food is also bad with just full of vegetables for the chicken green curry. Also, who puts cabbage in green curry? Plus they never listen to the customer. Every time I order take out, I tell them not to give me utensils. Yet they give me utensils every single time."
"I stopped in for lunch while waiting for jury duty at the courthouse nearby. I enjoyed the summer rolls (with shrimp and peanut hoisin sauce), tom ka soup (with chicken), and Thai iced coffee. Next time I'll check out their lunch specials!"
"Not to shabby. I am a big Thai food fan. Found the Tom Kah coconut soup to be a bit to milky and lemony. But regardless savory and full of tasty broth flavor. I believe the could work this recipe out a bit better. But for $6 tom Kah is worth it. Would definitely come back."
