Reviews of JALSA
"Healthier, authentic and vegan friendly Indian restaurant. Dishes seem more natural and healthier than other Indian places. There’s no neon orange chicken tikka masala here. Their tikka masala is looks more naturally brown. One of the best chana masala’s I’ve had."
"Right off of Coney Island avenue is the best Indian Restaurant south of Prospect Park. The service is outstanding and the food is making my tastebuds dance! I had the kale fritters, the chutneys are delicious! For my main dish I had the Dal Makhani, yellow rice, and butter naan. Great location for families, friends, couples, and singles! Must try JALSA! ☺️"
"I eat at the restaurant this weekend and was served room temperature mango Lassi. I had pani puri which was okay, plain dosa and lamb vindakoo. I got diaharea later the evening. The food is not fresh! Frozen reheated. The Young waitress, when I asked for my check, she told me to wait as she continued to spread table cloth on another table as if that couldn't wait. All my dishes were left on the table as the waitress walked pass several times. The restaurant is not busy, the service is not good and the food will make you sick. Don't waste your money and time. Not worth it. The sauces are stale..I couldn't finish my dosa."
"My family and I have been coming here for a while now—since around the time they opened this location—but I never got around to writing a review. This is the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. It is mind blowing. We eat here at every opportunity. Every dish is amazing, but we especially like the palak chaat and saag paneer. The palak chaat is perfectly crispy and flavorful and my dad says he’s never seen it anywhere else. The saag paneer is like the fairy food of saag paneers, which is to say once you try it all other saag paneer a pale in comparison. They make the paneer themselves and you can taste it. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every dish. The mango lassi is creamy and delicious and makes me want to drink several gallons of it. The service is excellent. The owner is very friendly and you can tell she cares about her customers and the quality of her food. If you ask she will recommend dishes from the menu and her recommendations never fail to be outstanding. The atmosphere is so pretty, I love the fairy lights."
"We hosted a private event in the backyard at Jalsa and it was truly incredible! The food was perfect, the service was impeccable, and the backyard is beautifully decorated with a wonderful atmosphere. Nowshin was so kind, accommodating, and responsive during the planning process. If you are looking for a place to host an event in Brooklyn, look no further than Jalsa’s backyard."
