Reviews of A Saffron Thread
"Excellent Shrimp Curry, Chicken Tikka Marsala, Bhindi, with perfectly cooked rice. All very fresh and full of flavour. Two meals, two canned drinks, $30."
"Ordered Chicken Taco Today Along With 2 Samosas! I usually get full meals here. I'm not too happy with the $8 ticket for a single chicken taco. It tasted ok, a bit on the sweet side with a savory twist & not very fulfilling overall taste wise & definitely not satisfying enough for the price. Samosas are typically smaller than normal, but flavors + spice make it acceptable enough. Samosas are $ 5 per."
"A very typical Indian restaurant in Tribeca. The problem with Indian food is that the chicken is always dry. Same here. But the service was great. A narrow restaurant layout. Buffet style but not self service. The lunch special with nan and a coke ended up being $18."
"This place is so bad. The food tastes extremely bland. No place to site comfortably, wind comes to hit you in the face every time a customer comes in (don't ask!). They goofed up orders of other customers while we waited for our food and couldnt even identify their own food. We would have been fine with all those but the food is horrible. Not at all authentic. Neither of us can even finish half of it. Even the rice is sticky like sushi and not like Indian rice. As a South Asian, I feel betrayed. Yikes."
