"There's actually only one South Indian spot in the whole Newport area. Can you believe that? It used to have a food truck in Jersey City, but I haven't seen it around lately. Anyway, let me tell you about their food. The portion sizes are pretty decent, and the prices are reasonable too. Now, their idly, vada, and dosa are really good, but I have to be honest with you, the sambar was a bit too watery for my taste. And don't even get me started on the coconut chutney, it was totally tasteless. But hey, overall, it's not a bad place to check out if you're in the mood for some South Indian cuisine. It's right there in Newport Mall, so give it a shot!"
"Such a waste of a good spot in the mall. The quality of food and service has deteriorated. Masala dosa was weird with a potato ball in center. The amount of sambar was too less and they charge 2$ for extra sambar. Sambar was lukewarm. Two cold samosas with very little chutney costs 7$! The table was wobbly and the staff doesn’t care much for anything just doing their job for the sake of it! Coffee for 5$ was not bad. Never going back again. Rather go to the food court with multiple options."
"My friend and I love this place because of it's location and the food! We have tried the Mysore masala dosa, onion rava masala dosa and onion masala dosa. My friend loves their Mysore masala dosa a lot. I liked their onion masala dosa and rava masala dosa more. The sambhar and chutney were also nice. There aren't many south Indian places around Newport so this is our go-to place."
"The dosa was great! The service was terrible. My friend ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa with cheese as an add on. And I ordered next and said the same thing. But I forgot to specify cheese. I realized that after the transaction went through and I asked if I could change that order and he said no sorry. We can give you a refund enough though they were using stripe as a payment system. He told me I can get a soda for my troubles even though I don’t drink soda. Other than the service just make sure they don’t mess up your order! The food is great otherwise!"
"The food isn’t bad - I personally have never had any issue but the attitude staff is not very acceptable. I asked for green chutney & mind you 2 small samosas cost me 7$ - attached is a pic of chutney I got. Plus the lady who was on the counter when I requested her if she could please warm up my food - her attitude was very bad & she refused to warm it up. It’s fine you don’t like working there - please change your behavior or the job."
