"This hidden spot in Astoria deserves so much more recognition for its omakase. Not only is Chef Alex so thoughtful in his preparation, but the fish is so fresh and delicious. Chef Alex is so passionate about each piece he serves, and has created such a wonderfully unique menu. The price point is so fair for the quality and service. I could not recommend this place more, I will definitely be back."

"Well, I'll say this. The ingredients are incredibly fresh. The portions leave much to be desired, but the food prep quality overall is truly fantastic. Price? Not worth it. Service? Needs serious improvement. If price isn't an issue and you want what might possibly be some of the freshest sushi in this area, then go for it."

"Omakase at Sake Kawa is a must. Alex is always personable and provides the highest quality fish and ingredients. My family and I have been frequenting here for at least 3 years. The friends that we bring for the first time is always pleased after the meal. MUST get the Kumamoto oysters to start before the omakase. Thank me later :)"
