Reviews of Sushi Village
"We always drive past this place so finally decided to check it out on Labor Day. It was around 12:30 and while the dining room wasn’t full, there were a good amount of tables dining. Since it was a holiday, it was weekend prices. There are some pretty interesting items on the menu. Unfortunately, nothing was really that good. For apps, we ordered the yuzu tuna. This came with mango popping boba in it, which had no business there. The seaweed and kani salad had way too much tempura flakes in it. The mushroom soup was just a salty broth with boiled mushrooms, that weren’t even cooked all the way. The agedashi tofu was actually pretty good. The yellowtail jalapeño was pretty good but it could have used a little less of whatever sauce they put on it. I also liked the fact they had crispy rice on the menu. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it on an AYCE menu. However, their spicy tuna/salmon is way too minced. It’s like they put it into a food processor because it has almost a paste-like consistency. For other items, we ordered mostly sashimi because we didn’t want to fill up on rice. I liked the white tuna sashimi, which is usually my fave. We ordered a spider roll, which could have been good if there wasn’t so much rice in it. We also ordered another roll which we didn’t realize was a tempura roll meaning they dunked the whole thing in batter and fried it, and that was too much. All you could taste was oily tempura. For dessert, you’re only allowed one scoop of ice cream per person. So if you wanted more than one flavor, too bad. They do have Oreo tempura though. I’m not a fan but my husband loves it so he was happy about that. Overall, it seems they try really hard here to fill you up with the extras, which most places do but I felt Sushi Village was overdoing it with the extra rice, tempura flakes, popping boba, etc. Not a good option for AYCE."
"Not my favorite AYCE sushi. Biggest drawback’s that their sushi wasn’t made with sushi rice and the rice portion was huge. They also put limits on quite a few items. Limit on calbi I get it, but why on desserts and certain appetizers that don’t use expensive ingredients? Flavor and quality of sashimi are all very mediocre. Teaneck sushi, which I had just a couple of weeks before, was better for the same price. I’d rather be going back there"
"AYCE Sushi! What more can you ask for. The atmosphere is nice and the staff were super friendly. The sushi itself was very tasty, and the salmon sashimi tasted fresh. This is one of my favorite spots for AYCE sushi with a pretty good wide variety of styles at a very good price."
"This place was very yummy! I came here with my husband for a quick lunch before I went to school and we were very satisfied. I had the sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura roll both were delicious and crunchy! My husband got the spicy shrimp rolls, three tuna hand rolls and the Kani salad. Sooo delicious and very fast with our order definitely will be back. I recommend this little place it’s got a lot more on their menu and you would never think to go since it’s off the highway but go and check them out."
"Classic sushi spot! We did all you can eat, and everything on the menu was included, as is expected. Sushi wasn't rushed out all at once, and the items I got came out accurate. One unique roll they had was called the village roll. It came out later than the others because it had mozzarella cheese and was hot. I saw it and had to try it and I recommend it! At first, it was weird to have cheese and rice together, but because they used crab and salted it right, it was actually a good combo - just very heavy! Fried Oreos were better than the average sushi spot, which is a plus. Overall, I give Sushi Village a 4 out of 5."
