"I have been to this location four times but the very last visit was very dissatisfied. Seems like a new chef but Carmen was not professional. Not only he made a joke that extra ginger is extra money after refilling it once (by that comment my friend stopped eating ginger) but also had one of the customers torch one of sushi pieces. Very rude to make such a comment. If you will joke around, come up with a better joke or be quiet. And are you not confident enough to torch it yourself? Why am I paying you to do if you are going to pass a torch to some random customer to cook my fish? The fish came out of course over cooked. Never been to any other sushi by bou location with a chef like him (I’ve been to JC, and also multiple locations in the city). Also rice was not consistent with each piece and some pieces had too much sauces and was not well balanced. Again first time having this inconsistency. Please treat your paying customers with respect and do your job right."

"One of the best sushi/omakase experiences I ever had! Chef Carmen is wildly talented and clearly dedicated to make sure his guests have the best experience. Each piece was carefully curated and had so many levels of taste. The cocktails were creative and complemented our meal. The hosts, bartenders, everyone added a friendly ambience with 90s hip hop decor. Definitely the best sushi spot in the Hoboken/Jersey City!"
