"Wabi Sabi does best what most people say they do: sushi. Their restaurant is decorated with plaques for best sushi, best sashimi, and even the best restaurant in Bloomfield. Having tried their Godzilla Roll, I'm inclined to agree. Their entire menu of chef's specials is filled with both familiar and unique rolls. The Godzilla Roll immediately stood out with an assortment of fish, including deep-fried tuna. It was a great mouthful and exceptional taste. The Dirty Roll was also quite good. Lots of elements complimenting each other. I think for some folks, there may be too much going on, and the flavors can be lost, but I appreciated how everything came together. Very yummy. I was drawn to the presentation of their grilled squid, but the taste didn't wow me as much. A simple salt and pepper squid served with soy sauce. Good portion, and not bad, but I think I'll stick with the sushi at Wabi Sabi. I always appreciate an attentive staff, but at some point, it started to feel like I had 3 people at my table and not just the 2 lol... Overall, I enjoyed my visit. One of our servers also shared their insight into the baby yellowtail sushi that we ordered, in comparison to regular yellowtail sushi, which I appreciated. Thanks for the food!"
"This is my new favorite Sushi spot. This place is small and popular. I suggest making a reservation. Chef selection sushi for two. Was so good and fresh. We couldn’t finish it all. Shrimp and vegetable tempura was crispy and the batter stayed on. The tempura sweet potato was a nice surprise. The staff is very nice and attentive."
"One of the best sushi place I have ever been to in NJ. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worthy for the fresh , great quality. We are a party of five, adding tip about $100pp. the sushi/ sashimi combo each slice is thick not thin, so the amount is big. Eel fried rice is a bit surprise. it’s kind a bit ‘juicy’ fried rice, not very dry, with a bit corn adding the special taste texture. We also ordered the chicken and beef yakitori, not too bad. Btw, the people there is very nice, very passionate to introduce and explain each dish. We will be back:)"
"An absolutely delightful experience. The owner, not only personifies the rich Japanese culinary culture, but truly loves what he's doing. They get fresh fish shipped directly from Japan. Dishes are delicious and a treat for other senses as well. We couldn't help but take a lot of pictures of this memorable experience."
