Dickey's Barbecue Pit

"Normally their wings are to die for, instead i got old wings seemed like they were from yesterday burnt with little to no meat on the bones. Due to the fact they’ve been fried time and time again. it was really upsetting getting home to see that the food i drove a total of 45 min for was burnt and just disgusting. My 4 year old son ate 2 of the wings before i noticed how bad they looked hopefully he doesn’t get sick. I had to then drive back again and demand a refund to be told only half of my money will be given back to me. I had to argue my way to get a complete refund.This is so unprofessional especially since i go there religiously at least once every other week. DO NOT GO IN THE MORNINGS !!! I will not be going back ever again. also make sure to check your foods quality before you leave. The prices went up as well from $12 to $14 and the foods quality isn’t up to tier. So disappointing, but i found an awesome spot named bubbakoos next door it was delicious. All this headache was worth their amazing food. They just opened a few months ago definitely recommend bubbakoos 5 ⭐️"

"“Mixed review Meats are very good but the rest..” MENU - the menu is what brought them to 3 stars because they had big changes and eliminated half the menu. They eliminated a ton of stuff like turkey, burnt ends, onion straws, waffle fries, corn bread. BBQ place with no corn bread? The menu became very fast food like. FOOD - the meats are still excellent. Pulled pork is excellent brisket is excellent. But that’s about it. The chicken is just ok and the sausage is nothing special. As for the sides not so good. Which is strange because that’s usually the easy part. Fries are terrible, mashed are not good. SERVICE - unfortunately you can clearly tell they are penny pinching and trying to maximize profit while quality suffers. No special requests, and no accommodations."

"I think Dickey's is one of the best local restaurants in town. Brisket is so tender and the sauces are really good too. Recommend creamy spinach and onion tanglers for sides! And you get free soft serve ice cream :)"

"This is the 4th time I’ve ordered from this place. First two times sucked! Third time was awesome. Burnt ends, sliced brisket, and pulled pork were excellent. Good crispy waffle fries. Disgusting, inedibly salty creamed spinach. Just okay baked beans. This most recent time, the brisket burnt ends are just a few actual burnt ends and a bunch of tiny pieces of chopped brisket slices. 1-lb of sliced beef brisket is $21.00 1-lb of brisket burnt ends is $27.00 So I feel taken on having ordered the burnt ends and instead got chopped up slices of brisket. If anything, these so-called “burnt ends” should be significantly cheaper than the sliced beef brisket. Also, the brisket burnt ends does not weigh 16-ounces, but rather 14.55-ounces. (You’re supposed to get what you pay for, especially when you spend nearly $100 on lunch). Shortchanging customers is just a lousy business model. I’m not sure if I’ll be ordering from Dickey’s again or not. In 4 total orders, only 1 has been very good. Like every other place in EHT, this place is also hit or miss, but with a 25% success rate, this place is mostly “miss” for me. Having said all this, when Dickey’s gets it right, it is fan-freaking-tastic! It’s as good as any barbecue I’ve had in South Jersey. But… getting a good meal from this place is a lot like trying to win the lottery. So good luck! I hope you order on a “hit” day.
