"Squan Tavern is as it appears to be. A family owned restaurant and bar, nothing fancy. It's densely decorated with knickknacks especially above eye level, and doubly so with the lingering Christmas decor. Mozzarella sticks were good, though not served especially warm. I couldn't tell if the sauce was made or if it came bagged but it was pretty solid. I thought the Caesar salad was decent but priced a bit steeply, and again I wonder whether the dressing is made in house. The pizza seemed very wet, slightly underdone, and made with little attention to detail and even less love"
"This is the perfect place to enjoy a great solid meal with friends and family. Service was terriric and the food is appropriately priced, hearty, delicious and satisfying. Their pizza is one of the few i recommend (I so dislike the thick crust, no taste, cheese sliding off oil things people call pizza.) Always busy, seems to be a popular place: cant go wrong!"

"The Squan Tavern was recommended as a great place for pizza. I grew up on the Jersey shore, and hadn’t been back for 20 years. The pizza is phenomenal. The same Jersey style I grew up with. We ordered clams casino and fried calamari as appetizers. Both were excellent. The pizza was crispy and chewy. The toppings were great, pepperoni and sausage. We came back a couple days later for lunch. Again, we had pizza, but I got the spicy mussels marinara. Spicy is right, a nice slow heat. When we get back to the Jersey shore, The Squan Tavern is definitely on our list for great food. Thank you for the great food and service."
"Fantastic lunch today. Would recommend to anyone. Sangria, made in-house and perfect. Apps - Would recommend all. Blackened tuna bites. Conch fritters. And big mozz sticks. Entrees. Pictured are the calamari. Spaghetti meatball and a chopped anti pasta salad. Great service. Will be back"
