"We haven’t been to Shogun in a few years and used to love it. Saturday night left our party of seven completely disappointed. The food was horrible and not fresh. The firecracker chicken was watery and cold and the chicken blossom was bland and the meat was tough. Worst of all was our server, who rarely came by to take our orders (we constantly had to wave someone else down), kept forgetting our orders, and not once checked to see how our food was. Two of our entrees came out 15 minutes after the rest, and only came after we asked a few of the other waiters to check on the order. When we approached the manager about the poor quality of food and terrible service, we were stunned with how unprofessional the manager was. He was incredibly rude and insensitive, and asked us “what are we to expect in a time where good service is hard to come by in the industry?”. There was no apology or any recognition of the poor food and service we experience, just arguing. We heard that the owner is now more of an ‘absent owner’ and unfortunately it’s leading to a management and service that is just awful and entirely unprofessional. For an expensive meal, there are plenty of other delicious Asian restaurants in our area with a similar vibe, way WAY Better food, and appropriate service. There is no need to waste your money here, and we will not be returning. Hopefully the management gets their act together so that others have better dining experiences."
"Beautiful setting, delicious food, and drinks. Highly recommend."
"09/27/23 - Back with wife for our 25th wedding anniversary. Nothing fancy, just a nice evening out with my scmoopie at the sushi bar. The Hibachi upstairs is great for a celebration. Plenty of room for large groups.. Back again. Drank and ate at the bar. Do the hot oil carpacio sushi appetizer. Omg, what a nice flavor. Very nice time, good service and excellent suggestions from the bartender. 06/02/19 - Brought wife to the bar for a nice time out with a few cocktails and some snacks. Nice Time. 01/24/20 - Back with wife and kids in tow. Drinks at the bar and dinner. OMG, my son ordered the BBQ calamarie and got quite a surprise. Great time, good service and exceptional dishes."
"Been coming to this location for a long time. Most occasions I’m too busy stuffing my face to take a photo of the food. But the food is always good and the bartenders are typically always on point. The hibachi tables upstairs are often forgot about because you can’t see them but I highly recommend doing that also. Great family spot or date night. Highly recommended"
"Stopped by for an early dinner tonight with no reservation. No problem, they seated us immediately in the dining room. Impressive building with an 1,800 gallon fish tank separating the bar area. It was well kept with beautiful fish, a good sign. We skipped cocktails on a Tuesday and went for a 3 course meal. Started with Hot and Sour soup, which was excellent. Lots of content and tasted great. We also had a sushi roll opting for the Romance Roll. Tuna, salmon, wrapped around rice in the shape of hearts, it was a work of art and delicious, exceeding our expectations. Definitely order again. For dinner, we got two dishes to share. First was a special Singapore Mei Fun with shrimp. Nice thin rice noodles and listed as gluten-free. It's just had a hint of spice. Second was Chicken Blosom served with white rice. Again, just a hint of spice. I would get it hotter next time. Overall, the service was very good, the food was excellent and the restaurant had a fun atmosphere. We will be going back, maybe to try Hibachi next time."
