Reviews of Old & New Shop
"This place is neverrrrr open! It really blows my mind. Online and on the big sign at their store it says open from 9:30-2:20. But then there’s a smaller sign on their door saying open 11-2. We went at 1 and they still weren’t open. They are not open on weekends either, so you’ve only got 15 hours a week that you can try to get in but even then it’s a gamble bc they seem to just randomly decide what their hours are. It’s wild."
"I have NEVER left a one star review. Recently, I had an unfortunate experience at this store that left me deeply disappointed and concerned. What made this encounter particularly disheartening was the behavior of one of the store's workers—a volunteer—who displayed an attitude of rudeness and indifference. While I understand that volunteering is a choice, it is disconcerting to witness someone in a service-oriented role who seems to lack the willingness and enthusiasm to be there. This incident has led me to reflect upon the impact of such behavior on the overall customer experience and the importance of fostering a positive environment, regardless of one's volunteer status. Upon entering the store, it quickly became apparent that the worker in question was disinterested and seemingly bothered by the presence of customers. Her lack of willingness to assist, engage, or even acknowledge customers resulted in an unpleasant atmosphere. It is understandable that everyone has bad days, including volunteers, but when someone willingly takes on a service-oriented role, it is crucial to maintain a level of professionalism and respect towards customers. I am a frequent visitor. Everything I am here, she has it out with someone. I would gladly volunteer in her place , just so her rudeness won't ruin someone else's day. I WILL NOT VISIT THIS STORE AGAIN AS LONG AS SHE IS HERE. Anyone that has visited this store will know EXACTLY who I am talking about. Customer service is the backbone of any successful business or organization. In the case of a volunteer-run store, it becomes even more vital to provide exceptional service as the volunteers are the face of the establishment. Each interaction is an opportunity to leave a lasting impression and ensure customers feel valued and appreciated. Unfortunately, the worker's rude behavior conveyed the opposite message, making customers feel unwelcome and unimportant. The negative encounter with the rude worker had a significant impact on my overall experience as a customer. It left me questioning whether my patronage was truly valued and whether I wouls ever return to the store in the future. Furthermore, the unfavorable impression created by this worker may deter potential customers from exploring the store, leading to missed opportunities for growth and support. While it is essential to acknowledge the dedication and contributions of volunteers, it is equally important to address instances where their behavior falls short. Volunteers should be provided with clear guidelines and expectations regarding their interactions with customers to ensure a positive experience for all. The encounter with a rude volunteer worker at the store was deeply disheartening. It served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining professionalism and dedication, regardless of one's volunteer status. It is my hope that this incident will be addressed, promoting a culture of respect and appreciation for customers in the store."
"CASH ONLY - They carry items for the whole family and it’s a great place to find books and houseware items. They are pretty clean and organized the staff is all very friendly and their prices are reasonable. They also have a wonderful used bridal shop, amazing prices."
"I really love shopping here. There's always a fun selection of items and in the past the prices have been reasonable. Lately they've raised the prices on some items well beyond what I think should be reasonable for a thrift store. I looked at some used dresses for over $20 and they weren't formal wear. I've gotten some good quality items, that are clean and useful. It's always great to buy used especially as a young person with my first home. It's also great to have a local donation center. It's all totally run by volunteers and the profit goes to support the hospital so I feel like shopping here is a good choice. There's usually a good selection of books, clothes and kitchen items. I wish they had longer weekend hours again so working people can shop here."
"I absolutely love the shop..my finds are amazing! The work that goes into taking in the donations, sorting, cleaning, pricing and then put out for shopping, the work is endless and when I learned it was all done by volunteers, my respect for them had risen to higher levels. I have seen women acting out, speaking rudely and it makes me mad that people could act like this towards the staff."
