"Hands down the best Italian restaurant in the area for the price. Every dish I've ordered has been better than the last. I've eaten chicken Parm, chicken piccata, calzones, pizza. Everything is good. They just introduced a new chicken dish to their permanent menu: "Coco Loco", which is coconut breaded chicken on a bed of salad greens with balsamic glaze and other goodies. It was delicious. If you sit down to a meal, they serve hot bread and oil with every meal, even sandwiches. The wait staff is fantastic and friendly, and multilingual. You'll never go wrong eating here. I hope they stay in business for a long time!"

"I just have to say one thing about Mateo's!!!! OUT OF THIS WORLD! CRAZY GOOD! And I do mean like off the charts! I have eaten many pizzas in my day, and this place is in the top 2 all time greatest pizza places!!! The crust was perfect! The taste, texture, all the right seasonings! I found this place by accident, and let me just say this, this is the only place I will ever eat pizza again!!! END OF STORY!!!"

"Great small pizza/restaurant. Nothing fancy, but good food and service. The pizza is very good and the meals fantastic and extremely reasonable 12-22 dollars. Way too much, we all had doggie bags . I am a fussy Italian, we will go back."

"Mateo's pizza is always awesome. But this time, we had a large order with a lot of special instructions including delivery to Monmouth Battlefield Park for our event. Not only were the pizzas delivered on time, hot and fresh, but they included paper plates and napkins and a separate little pizza cutter for the gluten free pie. This was such a thoughtful personal touch which made it that much easier & safer for our friends to enjoy their food. They also were very accommodating with our special orders for our guests who could not have the tomato sauce, and other guests who could not have dairy. Thank you for being so helpful tailoring your wonderful pizzas to the dietary needs of our friends."

"I gave this place two chances, and hated it every single time. First time, my whole bottom of the pie was burnt. Second time, all the toppings on the pizza slid off the slice as I was trying to take it out of the box. This place does not compare to all the better pizzerias in town. Don’t waste your money."
