Reviews of El Mexicano Restaurant & Cafe IV
"The best Cemita ( Mexican sandwich ) I ate in Brooklyn. And the cup of coffee is fresh and of nice quality."
"My coworkers and I love this place. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. Seriously the biggest burrito I’ve ever seen. The only caveat is that there is no continuity. We order Greek salads very often and we never know what we are going to get. Sometimes it comes with pita and tzatziki, while other times it does not. Today I didn’t get olives in my salad as I usually do. Sometimes I ask for no onion or dressing on the side and they don’t adhere to my requests. It’s quite bothersome because we still pay the same price. It would be nice to know what we are going to be getting when we order, not after it shows up."
"This would have been a better review but today was awful. First let me state that they make fantastic freshly squeezed juice and I think they have a really good breakfast (including their tamales!) for a great price. For me they have fallen flat on lunch. I have ordered tacos (so, so), Flautas (way off the mark), salads, (decent when they don't over salt the chicken), Mexican wings w/rice & beans (yuck-rubbery undercooked wings, flavorless rice and beans) and Wraps which until today was one of the more reliable items, but the Philly wrap today was overcooked and someone has a really heavy hand with the salt shaker. It was absolutely awful, dry, crumbly, tasted solely of salt and the fries that came with it were undercooked and limp. I was so disappointed with their cooking, I almost threw away the menu along with the nasty wrap. It will be a long time before they make it back to my lunch option list."
"I LOVE this place! We got the Mexican tacos with Oaxaca cheese chorizo and peppers. $13 for 3 Mexican tacos but I swear it’s like 2 Meals in one. I usually have to eat one and save the rest for later hahah. I love coming in here when I don’t feel like cooking, with price of inflation, it feels like buying groceries to make a whole meal it would cost even more LOL. So when my fridge is empty, and I’m hungry, this is my go to. Plus, everything is extremely fairly priced, stuffed with meat, big portions, not too expensive. I also tried the Al pastor tacos. Sooo yummy. Lots of other options for cheaper that would be just as filling (although you can’t go wrong for 3 big tacos for $12) Lots of people say don’t have a big menu, it’s bad for business, but they offer really everything. I guess Mexican food is easy to make into anything because they’re simple ingredients, I think they have breakfast and other American foods. Definitely will try that next time when I’m craving something else. and the horchata is HUGE and yummy just like any classic horchata. It’s a liter container when you order the large. Easily can split with someone."
"The freshly squeezed juice was good. But tacos and rice with beans are absolutely tasteless! They put two microscopic pieces of lime that could not be squeezed out, they slipped out of the hands. Undeservedly high marks!"
