"Went here with colleagues for a New Year's Eve celebration meal. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and happy. The dinner menu is consistent with online and can be used as a reference. I ordered Charred Octopus, Jumbo Crab Meat Ravioli, a glass of Riesling, and the dessert was Warm Chocolate Moelleux. ❤The Octopus was sweet and sour, and the portion was not small. I was half full after eating it. I highly recommend trying it and gave it 8.8 points. ❤Crab meat ravioli is a special dish, there are five in total, but it seems to lack some surprising taste, give it a 7 points. ❤Riesling is sweet and not greasy, so it goes well with meals. ⭐But for dessert, the menu clearly stated that it will be served with vanilla ice cream, but what I was given was fig ice cream. I was very disappointed. It should be consistent with the menu, right? but after all this is a nice dinner with my dear colleagues! finally, I'm sorry I forgot the waiter's name, he is tall very enthusiastic and professional. Thank you."
"Went there for lunch. The interior decor is not like any typical Italian restaurant. Lack of exciting decor was made up well by excellent food. Greek salad and charred octopus salad was very good. Lobster bisque soup was a bit watery but tasteful. Halibut was exceptional; asked them to spice it up and they served something very special."
"We had Thanksgiving Dinner at the Metuchen Inn. We have been here before and the restaurant is delightful. The atmosphere is wonderful, it reminds me of a European Bistro. Very nicely decorated for the holiday’s. Our food was amazing, it always has been amazing. Short Ribs and Bolognese dishes were awesome. I would give a 5 Star but the service fell short. I am willing to pay for a fine dining experience but I expected the service to be more spot on. Took the waiter 15 minutes to acknowledge we were at the table and when he did he said he was busy. Yes we understand that Thanksgiving dinner he would be busy. We enjoyed our time but would have enjoyed it more had the drinks not taken 30 minutes to get to the table. All in all we spent 2 3/4 hours dining but that was more about waiting so long in between seeing our waiter to get our appetizers, dinner and then dessert. Loved spending the time with the family for Thanksgiving but would have enjoyed the appetizer, meal and dessert to not have been so long in between. We will be back as we have always enjoyed The Metuchen Inn"
"Came here to celebrate a parent's milestone birthday. The food was delicious, well presented and portions were manageable, although we did leave with leftovers. The service was good, attentive, but on the slower side. Perhaps because it was a lazy Sunday afternoon, lunch (the menu did not seem different from a dinner menu though) took 2.5 hours. As an upside, we didn't feel rushed at all. I recommended skipping dessert, the options felt like an afterthought. Since it was a birthday, I forced the guest of honor to order something. The creme brulee they chose was probably about a quarter inch deep, totally not worth it. I really felt as if the restaurant should have comped it. They did bring it out singing happy birthday, which was very nice."
"My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary dinner. All of the food and drinks were delicious. Our server, Alexander, was wonderful and very attentive! We got the mussels and meatballs as starters, the BBQ pork tenderloin and the NY Strip Steak special as our entrees, a seasonal mojito (the mint was super fresh!) and an espresso martini as drinks, and the warm apple strudel for dessert. Everything was great and we had a wonderful anniversary dinner!"
