Philomena's Pizza

"The best pizza in New York City. I recommend a square and a classic New York Slice. Truly, the entire lineup in the window is amazing and you won't be disappointed. They are popular on the weekends so you may have to wait a little longer for a full pie. If you are in a hurry, I say get the slices so you don't have to wait."

"Yesterday I finally got to taste Philomena's and, got to see what all the hype was about so, let me tell you that the hype is REAL! My lady went with two slices of the Dragon breath which has sausage, pepperoni and jalapeno peppers. I had the white cheese slice and a regular slice. I was a little upset that the regular slice crust was a bit floppy but, the flavor of that slice was soooo good!... I did have a big bite of my lady's Slice which I found to be really good. I eat fire so the jalapenos had no heat for me. And while we were eating, the owner Dave sent me a square on the house. Kenny the other guy there brought it over to me and said this was what they're known for. That Sicilian slice was so light and sooo crisp!.... Was really delicious!... The white slice was also really good. I have to say... Being a life long New Yorker I have had my fair share of pizza. And if you enjoy some real deal pizza?... Then this spot is a must try. Dave, Kenny and the young lady working the register were all so pleasant that the experience at Philomena's was one of the best experiences I have had in quite some time. Thank you Dave and Kenny."

"Excellent service, friendly staff and the owner Dave is friendly and welcoming, treating you like family. The pizza is amazing; the crust has a nice char to it, the pizza had no flop in it and the Parmesan cheese added to the pie really add something amazing. The fact that David ferments the dough for 72 hours really enhances the texture and taste of the pizza. The place was small, but the ambiance of the place was charming and loved the kindness of Dave and his staff. I found this via Dave Portnoy who gave a review that I felt was lower than what it truly has. Get this pizza fresh and the flavors pop in your mouth. My wife and kids LOVED this pizza and I feel this is the best pizza in Queens. If you ever come to NY and to Queens in particular, please make this part of your trip. You will love it, I guarantee it."
