"Great and surprising spot. The food was pretty close to authentic Argentinian and the service was great. Highly recommend the pesto linguine with steak and shrimp. It was a cold night so maybe turning the heat up a bit would have made it more comfortable."
"Went before a show at Bergen PAC. Called a week before and made reservations. We arrived at the restaurant and were told they had no record of our reservation and I should have got a name of who took it. After waiting a while, we were seated at the bar. We ordered an appetizer because we could not eat a meal at the bar. It was getting late and we asked for the check and that took a long while. The room was dark and I added a tip not knowing that they automatically add a 20% tip to the bill. (As it was getting late and did not want to be late for the show, I did not scrutinize the bill and just paid it). I called the next day and had the tip charge removed. Bring a flashlight and your glasses if you dine here."
"We had tickets to a show at Bergen PAC and figured we would grab a bite nearby. El Tango was basically right next door. Please PLEASE do not make the mistake that we did. Read the reviews and believe them. I’ve dined quite a bit over my 50+ years of living and this was absolutely one of the top 5 worst meals I have ever had. My husband had the salmon. He said it was the nastiest piece of salmon he’s ever eaten. I had a chicken & shrimp dish. Disgusting cream sauce over tasteless unseasoned chicken breast with 4 little shrimp. I’ve had hospital cafeteria food with more flavor. If all of this wasn’t enough the incredibly high prices were outrageous. Plus 20% tip automatically added! Plus a credit card fee before I even presented my card! Posted a picture of my receipt… we didn’t even get beverages! It’s a shame because it’s a nice looking restaurant and the waitstaff was ok. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this restaurant. Too many other options to throw your money away here."
"Too expensive! $105 for a single sangria pitcher and just two appetizers and to also include the 20% mandated tip added to the check. I dont think a restaurant should mandate tips. However, it's great food and very good service but it's too highly priced. It's not worth the price, in my opinion."
"Me and my husband went here the other night for dinner. The menu was very unexpected for a Argentina place. I would honestly say they food is so so. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which seemed as though it was blended lobster rather then chunks or pieces of lobster. My husband ordered the chicken and shrimp. I also feel like the atmosphere seemed bland and not thought about at all. Overall it's not a bad restaurant just nothing to write home about."
