"I just love this place. And the longer it's in business, the more the atmosphere improves, which is evident from the growing number of customers at the tables. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but compared to what, really? This cafe is located at the base of the Tea Building, so I'm guessing the rent is enormous. If you want to save money, you can head downtown for a cheaper cup at Dunkin Donuts, but then you're sitting in...well, Dunkin Donuts. My only suggestion for improvement is that the large coffee pumps don't really keep the coffee hot, so if you show up late morning around 11, the coffee will be lukewarm. The girls at the counter say there's no thermostat on them so they don't know when the coffee is losing temperature. A few times I've had to ask for a new hot cup, and they always oblige. And perhaps the issue has been addressed by now. But that's my only minor complaint. I do wish the sandwiches were cheaper, as they look delicious. But the croissants are great, as is the super friendly staff. It's my regular coffee place these days."
"Nice bakery. The food was pretty good, though overpriced. The ham & cheese was delicious. The croissant wasn’t to my liking, but my wife liked it."
"It’s alright. I read some of the other reviews before going so I knew what to expect. I understand where one of the reviewers is coming from when they say the croissants aren’t flaky. When you get a croissant in France (most of Europe), it has some crunch to the flakiness. The ones here are flaky but soft, as if they’re made the night before instead of morning of. Not bad by any means, but different. They’re about twice the price of the ones in Europe as well. I’d say the food here is better than Starbucks but not much selection or accommodation. I wanted one of the sandwiches minus an item and was told it wasn’t possible which leads me to believe you can only get what’s in the case and when they’re out, they’re out. Also, again, makes me think everything is made the night before. I expected better for the elevated cost. Venue was adequate and employees were soft-spoken but friendly. No regrets but I won’t be back."
"Update: tried their babka and cherry pistachio tart. The babka was a bit dry for the outer crust but the inside was chewy and good. It could have done with more chocolate and nuts. The cherry pistachio tart was good - the crust was a bit bland. Came here as soon as it opened 8am. There are ample metered parking spots around this time. A lot of neighborhood folk's local coffee shop. They have a lot of seats and wifi which is great to get some work done. I got their brewed coffee - they serve La Colombe coffee beans. Their almond and chocolate croissant was a huge disappointment - it was so dry and borderline burnt, especially the top half. Considering it's a french bakery they really got it wrong but hoping it was just a one-off mistake. Overall a great place but the croissant was just really unfortunate."
