Thai Shack

"Just got takeout and spent over $30 for dumplings, soup and Pad Thai. I usually get 2 dinners and 1 lunch from an order like this. The dumplings were smaller in size and quantity from the last time I ordered. The soup portion was also smaller than anticipated for the price. The Pad Thai was okay and the portion was okay. I think the prices were a little high. Now I read that the ownership had changed. This place is conveniently located but will probably drive to Hackensack in the future."

"The food was sub-par, luke warm and a bit bland. Their peanut sauce was good. I was unoriginal with my one order - veggie pad thai with a side of tofu and the spring roll appetizer. Pretty much a staple for thai places. The spring rolls were on the colder side and pretty bland. The sauce was ok. The pad thai had two types of noodles in it a thin flat noodle and an angel hair noodle. Their veggies are frozen and then thawed for dishes so you get soggy, overcooked broccoli, carrots and green beans if you chose veggies in lieu of meat. And the tofu was full on cold. The only thing that saved the meal was the delicious peanut sauce which I asked for as a side and poured on the tofu and pad thai. It made it delicious."

"2 stars. Not 3. Thai Shack used to be my go to Thai take out. Until today. I ordered my usual and found that they changed owners. The food is now too westernized. It is tasteless. The Thai flavors are missing. They even include a container of red hot sauce and packet of soy sauce. Not Thai at all. It's like Chinese take out. They also use cheaper ingredients. Prices same or marginally more. Very disappointed that there is now no more decent Thai food in the area without driving 30 min."

"I ordered for a pick up their pad kee mao also known as “drunken noodles” which was delicious and definitely one of the best I’ve had. The woman who assisted me on the phone and for pick up was nice and gave great customer service. I also liked their chili sauce which was a tad bit different from other places but still delicious. It seems like the chili sauce was home made compared to other Thai restaurants I’ve been to."
