Reviews of EJ's Place
"This is a kosher dairy restaurant. The food was great, as always. Absolutely delicious. We were embarrassed, though, because we took somebody from out of town there and there are holes in the ceiling from leaks that have obviously been there a long time, unpainted plaster on the wall (with a ceiling leak above it), and the table was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned well after more than one set of customers. With a little TLC EJ's could be one of our top choices for a dairy meal again. Until then, we won't bring anyone else there and will avoid it ourselves."
"The pizza is good as long as you get a fresh pie. The other dishes, including falafel and various pastas, are nice to have if you’re there with others and don’t want pizza. The service can be slow but seems in line with other similar establishments. The staff are great as long as you’re respectful to them. The atmosphere is not my vibe but I mostly order takeout so this isn’t much of a factor."
"The line was kinda long because only one person was taking orders and it took a while for the person to take our order. We only wanted one slice and we didn't want it heated up. The pizza also isn't very good."
"TLDR: I had not eaten all day and ordered 1 slice at 5 pm. I took 2 bites, could not make myself take a 3rd, and threw out the rest. Visual: -Slice is small, meaning that their slice size is at best inconsistent. -Parts of the slice did not seem to have sauce or cheese (including the point which is odd). -Slice is stiff as a board (preference). Crumb: -Dry and without taste, likely a short fermentation with a low moisture dough. Flavor: -Very bland -Even while resorting to adding salt, the slice remained very bland."
"I've been going to EJs for a little over 10 years. I don't know what's changed but things have really been heading downhill over the last year or so. The staff is really struggling to keep up with demand. I don't know if they need an additional oven, additional staff or both. This leads onto another problem: order prioritization. People ordering at the counter shouldn't be told its a 25 minute wait for 3 slices while one pie after the other from phone/online orders goes out for delivery. (It's fast food place). Lastly, clean the store. Below is what all of the empty tables looked like and an employee in the corner folding pizza boxes basically implied i should clean it myself. It's just gross. The second star is because, usually, the pizza is still good. But seriously, the owner needs to wake up and pay attention. Twice recently i had to go across to Sammy's. Sammy's treats their customers like complete garbage but at least you can usually get your food."
