"My recent brunch at the W Hotel, which promised unlimited plates with bubbles for $48 per person, was unfortunately a letdown. Beyond the disappointing service, the food quality itself was underwhelming. The dishes, predominantly carb-heavy with an abundance of bread and potatoes, lacked freshness and tasted pre-cooked. The beef sliders, a potentially redeeming item, were notably tasteless, with the beef lacking any distinct flavor. The service issues compounded the unsatisfactory dining experience. Our waiter displayed a notable lack of attentiveness and never checked if we required refills. Despite a stated 1.5-hour limit for the table, only 3 of the 10 dishes were served in the first 30 minutes. The apparent understaffing was evident, as our waiter was constantly rushing between tasks but failed to attend to our table. The feeling of neglect was palpable, particularly when observing that tables arriving after us received their meals more promptly. My attempt to address these issues with the waiter was met with a dismissive response and a nonchalant apology, without any offer to rectify the situation. This experience at W Hotel fell drastically short of expectations. It's disheartening to encounter such a lapse in both food quality and service at a reputed establishment."
"A truly delightful dinner, I’ve heard my friends rave about the brunch, so when I got a chance to go to dinner, I absolutely went! Chef came out and explained a little bit of the Nova Scotia influence on the menu, and it definitely is a lot of seafood! We had a smattering of a few things, including an amazing cheeseboard with duck pate, we also enjoyed some baked clams, some fantastically, dressed oysters, a very well breaded, Fritto Misto, and a very tasty pea salad! For our entrées, we enjoyed the scallops, and also the saffron lobster pasta! Oh my goodness I’ve never had lobster butter before, and that pasta was literally to die for! And the scallops were melts in your mouth amazing, over a bed of barley. Almost to stuff to have dessert we enjoyed espresso martinis, and also the pumpkin moose, and the apple fritters, which is what the restaurant is known for! You must come to this place for dinner!"
"Good place for a boozy brunch with friends, the food is meh to average though. My friends and I didn’t realize that the reservations at the table were only for unlimited brunch- the deal is good so we didn’t mind. $45 for unlimited brunch and drinks. It honestly felt like we were being rushed to eat and didn’t get to ask any questions. They also started pouring champagne even though we didn’t decide if we were all drinking - so just be aware. The food was meh- honestly if we weren’t drinking it would be more noticeable lol. My favorites were the salad, French toast and scones. Everything else was covered in sauce or something was slightly off. For example the wings were tasted like ketchup and were lukewarm, and the Mac and cheese had peas?? Anyway, this is a great option for a big group of people since you don’t have to think much and it’s a super fun ambiance. If that’s not your vibe then pick elsewhere!"
"This is an absolutely beautiful place in NJ with the view of the NYC skyline. We went here on our first night on the city and it really set our expectations high. The food we ordered was good but our hosts seemed to not be in the best mood. We asked for some suggestions on their best dishes and they just didn’t have an answer for us. The view definitely made up for the mediocre service though."
"Mehhh, 6.5/10. The service was wonderful. They staff was attentive, friendly, and personable. The environment is really chill, clean, and modern. You can most definitely see Manhattan from the restaurant and they have outdoor seating. They do well in ambiance, 10/10, but they lost point for food. We ordered the lemonade… don’t make our mistake for $6. Just get sparkling water, that was refreshing. Beer was good. The grilled cheese is something that I recommend you order. The ingredients are a great pair, cheese… caramelized onions with an apple marmalade….so good!! The burger was not as tasty… nor the shrimp sliders, which I think should be a total pass and removed from the menu. The fried seafood appetizer is just okay… but also… it’s clearly frozen seafood… the fish was good but the rest is a pass. I heard about brunch here… they say it’s great… but this time was a total pass for me. Honestly, I probably won’t go back unless I spent the night and had a voucher."
